CNN: Cantor’s office wrote loophole into insider trading bill | The Raw Story

CNN: Cantor’s office wrote loophole into insider trading bill | The Raw Story | Operation Deimos | Scoop.it

The law, which bars members of Congress from trading stocks based on information they get for work purposes and requires them to register any stock transactions over $1,000 within 45 days, was signed into effect in April, and was praised at the time for being a bipartisan effort.

But Cantor had drawn criticism for introducing a House version of the bill that stripped provisions requiring political intelligence consultants to register as lobbyists and stripping pension benefits from members found to be corrupt.

Via Operation Deja Vu
Anonymous Hades's insight:

Eric Cantor was so craven in effort to retain insider trading privileges, that he smiled through his shame as the world found out about his treachery.  No ideologies or isms were involved, only naked greed, bold-faced lies & a willingness to cheat.

Via Operation Deja Vu
Anonymous Hades's insight:

The freeloaders in Congress had Monsanto's back since long before the GOP shutdown the government.  We The People have been terribly vexed about that fact since the GOP shutdown began.

We're fed up with a GOP leadership that takes every opportunity to abandon law-abiding hard-working voters.  We're fed up with Monsanto's waiver of liability that protects them from lawsuits filed by ailing consumers who eat Monsanto's poisonous GMO crap.

End the GOP shutdown, then end Monsanto's stranglehold on our food supply. #OpMonsanto
