G+ is catching up big time for many reasons.  Among these reasons is the Hangout integration.

We just facilitated a remote 1.5 day leadership development session with Hangouts and it was fantastic.

Google is sticking to their strategy and their value is starting to win people over.  I was never a fan and, through valuable features, I am changing my perspective on the suite of offerings.

This is a relevant infographic.

The Role of Pinterest Inside & Outside The Classroom [Infographics] | Online tips & social media nieuws | Scoop.it

With over 10 million users, Pinterest has rocketed to pop-culture fame since its launch in beta in March 2010. This rapid growth makes it the fastest growing social media site of the past year. Educators have caught on to Pinterest in a big way. From kindergarten to college, teachers, professors and students are using Pinterest creatively to organize and share ideas from all around the Web and even in their own classrooms and campuses.

Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics]

Why Brands Must Embrace Visual Social Media in 2013 [infographics] | Online tips & social media nieuws | Scoop.it

Two infographics provide data and tips to explain why brands must leverage visual social media in 2013 to stay relevant and grow.

Today, the marketing world is still hot on the social media marketing trail, but the trail has diverged. There are different paths with cheerleaders along the way no matter which path a marketer follows.

Ideally, marketers should find the path down the middle that marries all of the elements of social media marketing, but most are not there yet. Many of today’s marketers are still choosing a single path to focus on or jumping back and forth.

For example, those paths include the data and metrics focus, the storytelling focus, the visual focus, and more. This article hones in on the visual focus with the help of two great infographics that visually share the data and tell the story of visual storytelling...

Make Your Podcast Sticky [Infographic]

Make Your Podcast Sticky [Infographic] | Online tips & social media nieuws | Scoop.it

There are six principles of sticky ideas according to Dan and Chip Heath, authors of Made to Stick. Sticky ideas are ones that we can plainly understand, clearly remember, and easily retell. When teachers and students make educational podcasts, whether audio or video, we want them to be sticky.

I created the infographic below that that applies the principles outlined in Made To Stick to podcasting for teaching and learning. You can click the image for a PDF version of the infographic.
