How to Make an Interactive Story Using Moodle LMS Lesson Activity

Here's how we make our interactive iNovels on www.oxford-english-masters.com which is a Moodle LMS. A few quick tips:

- Both Content and Question Pages allow branching choices - Question Pages have more features than Content Pages, particularly if you want to reward marks for different choices.

- Using Question Page feedback to give the results of an action is more efficient than using a separate Content Page for each result - The Jump to Link is very important

- NEVER leave it at THIS PAGE (which will loop and is especially problematic if marks are involved)), always NEXT PAGE or better link to the name of the Page you want (but you can only do this after creating those pageS)

- Remember to choose End the Lesson Jump to complete the story or for deaths, dead-end story branches etc.

- In the settings at the start, making sure Re-attempts are turned on so that if the reader dies they can attempt the story again!

Want To Create Interactive Moodle Content? | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it
Recently there was, what could have been, a fairly benign thread posted on the Moodle forums about how to create more interactive lessons. JP, the thread originator, was simply looking for a way to bring a little more life to the Moodle experience.

As can be expected from the Moodle community, there were others who immediately dove in and offered help and ideas – specifically by looking at all of the features available in the lesson module. However, JP was looking for something even beyond this.
