Edmodo Training Videos by Russell Stanndard

Edmodo is free and offers you a simple virtual learning environment where your students can share ideas and collaborate together. It has a very similar interface to Facebook and so your students will pick it up easily. What's more, students to do need provide their emails. It is really easy to create a group and then invite your students to join the group. You can create separate groups for each class you teach. What is more amazing is that it is free. You can create quizzes, polls, add up important dates to the calendar, run discussions and share links, videos, articles etc.

Great to have some instruction in how to use Edmodo..

Patricia Christian's curator insight, October 12, 2014 7:48 AM

This is  a FREE LMS and does not require students to provide an email address.  You are able to upload documents, videos, MP3s, pictures and links to websites.  Edmodo is user friendly and a great way to introduce students to an online learning environment.

A Great Edmodo Cheat Sheet for Teachers

A Great Edmodo Cheat Sheet for Teachers | Moodle and Web 2.0 | Scoop.it

Edmodo is a social networking website that has a huge potential in education. Thousands of teachers and educators have already started using it with their students and I personally believe that more and more educators will flock to it.
Edmodo provides a wide variety of features and services for teachers including the ability to create classroom groups where teachers and students get to share learning materials. The cheat sheet below sheds more light on what Edmodo is and how you can use it to first create your account, then set up your classroom group and finally a few words on how to post stuff on it.

20 Ways to Use Edmodo

Edmodo provides a simple to set-up, easy to use virtual learning environment which is especially suited to smaller groups. It's a hosted service (unlike Moodle) and works quite well on mobile devices. If you're thinking of offering a blended learning package to your learners then it's a good place to start.

Anne-Mart Olsen's curator insight, July 10, 2013 7:12 AM

I found that edmodo was particularly useful, as student easily identified with the platform.
