#HR A 70:20:10 Strategy that Actually Works: Free White Paper

#HR A 70:20:10 Strategy that Actually Works: Free White Paper | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
When it comes to 70:20:10 strategy, there’s been a lot of academic talk, a lot of over-theorizing, and few actionable ideas to take away from it all. While we know the theory that most of effective learning coming from experiential, on-the-job activities (70), social engagement (20), and traditional, instructor-led, classroom-based training (10) likely has some strong basis in reality, we often read a lot of information on the model without many practical applications to take back to our organizations and develop a clear plan on how to implement it and, more importantly, prove value from it.
Designing a 70:20:10 strategy that works

That is all about to change, thanks to the release of a key white paper we are providing publicly today. It’s called Designing Learning that Works: Using 70:20:10 Effectively, and it is co-authored by two of the foremost experts on the subject: Charles Jennings and Jos Arets, co-founders of the 70:20:10 Institute itself.

In this report, published exclusively by Docebo, as working partner with the Institute, readers are provided with a comprehensive outline on how to implement a 70:20:10 strategy that not only delivers learning value but also business value for organizations that seek to implement this increasingly adopted framework. For example, one role defined in the framework, as laid out in this paper, is the “Performance Detective”, a crucial role to establish early on in the 70:20:10 implementation process and outlined below.

PwC CEO Survey 2017: What's next?

PwC CEO Survey 2017: What's next? | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

PwC's CEO Survey for 2017 has just been released at the World Economic Forum's meeting in Davos.

The survey shares the view of nearly 1,400 CEOs on key events, trends and issues shaping business decision-making today.

Katherine Prewitt's curator insight, May 30, 2017 11:58 AM
Things are moving fast… Surveys like this one from PwC, that come back year-on-year with a consistent framework to sound CEO preoccupations, seem more valuable than ever. We see where ideas shift and evolve...
After years of talk about opportunity, CEOs are feeling heat from interconnectivity.

PwC Chairman, Bob Moritz comments on the results:

“In a time of heightened anxieties juxtaposed with the highest levels of transparency we have experienced, how leaders engage with employees and stakeholders (both public and private) has never been more important. Strategy can no longer be an approach of simply numbers and bottom lines; strategy must be built upon a long-term vision of growth, access, equality, innovation, and the human endeavour. The last of these is arguably the most important because linked to it is the critical concept of trust”

Avoiding the Legal Hangover From the Office Christmas Party by @EmploymentLawWS

Avoiding the Legal Hangover From the Office Christmas Party by @EmploymentLawWS | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

The office Christmas party may be a great way to boost morale and reward staff for their efforts during the year but things can go wrong and if they do, the repercussions can extend beyond the obligatory hangover. Usual employment laws apply whether an office Christmas party takes place within working hours, out of hours and regardless of location. This is because it is likely to be considered to be an extension of the normal working environment. Therefore employers will remain liable for acts carried out by their employees which may cause offence to others, to the extent that they may be faced with claims of discrimination. These may arise from over exuberant behaviour bordering on harassment and may also include the activities of hired entertainers.

designing the emergent organization

designing the emergent organization | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it
In The Rise of Emergent Organizations, Beth Comstock, Vice Chair at GE, provides some rules of thumb to guide organizational design for the emerging network era. It is wonderful to see a large corporation putting into practice the recommendations I, and many others, have been making on organizational design for more than a decade. I have taken five of these rules of thumb and annotated them with images from my last book in the perpetual beta series: Working in Perpetual Beta. With such an example set by GE, more organizations should be able to convince their executives that a serious redesign of how they work is essential. The alternative does not look good.

3 Reasons Why Existing Leadership Development Programs Don't Work

3 Reasons Why Existing Leadership Development Programs Don't Work | #HR #RRHH Making love and making personal #branding #leadership | Scoop.it

This is no longer just a leadership challenge (what good leadership looks like); it is a developmental challenge (the process of how to grow "bigger" minds). Many managers have become experts on the "what" of leadership, but novices in the "how" of their own development and the development of their teams. This is where many programs and books fall short.

Many companies simply don't prioritize this effort or make the minimal investment of time and resources. Or they are investing in the wrong strategy.
