I use FreshGrade on line portfolios for my classes it works for all content areas. I just get student and parent consent and keep everything professional and transparent. It makes online tutoring available in links I post for them as well as provides a place for students to store, document and have access to all they have done during the semester.

Asking students in depth questions can help with a higher level of thinking. This can relate to a administrator with staff. If discussing a issues asking them in depth questions or making them dig deeper can create a higher level of thinking.

Absolutely educational article on visible learning and the power of engagement. Whilst some articles can be very dry this one includes the use of movies, such as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, to help discuss concepts of disengagement and effective teaching strategies. I definitely don't want to be a 'Ben Stein' teacher, where there is no student engagement, repeating the words 'anyone', 'anyone'. Also has some great examples on the power of collaborative learning. Would recommend reading this article by Alan.
