Applying Design Thinking to the Course Creation Process

Applying Design Thinking to the Course Creation Process | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

"When we hear or see the term ‘design thinking’ the first thing that often comes to mind is graphic design or web design — things that are more concerned about the visual aspect. While the approach itself is deeply utilized in graphic design best practices, it is not an exclusive process used solely by designers.

All innovations in different aspects of society have somehow used the design thinking process one way or another. Innovative works in literature, music, engineering, business, and art — just to name a few- have greatly drawn inspiration from this process.

So, what’s so special about it and why do we need to be more aware on how it is closely related to the training/learning process?"

Essential Resources for Educators of Online and Blended Courses ~ Online Learning Insights

Essential Resources for Educators of Online and Blended Courses ~ Online Learning Insights | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

by Debbie Morrison

"It’s that time of year when educators seek fresh ideas and strategies to create meaningful learning experiences for their students. I too have plans for the upcoming school-year; one of my goals is to create a robust selection of useful resources accessible here on Online Learning Insights. This resource bank will be a list of links by topic targeted to professors, instructors and instructional designers looking for ideas, inspiration and/or skill development specific to online or blended learning and instruction. The resources are carefully selected; I’ve included only those that I refer to consistently, are of high-quality and support knowledge and skill development.

"This post [part I] is the beginning of the resource section—it will grow over time. If you have ideas for additional topics, or would like to suggest a resource, please do so by adding a comment to this post."
