This Study of 400,000 People Reveals the 1 Reason Employees Work Harder (and It's Not Pay or Benefits or Culture Decks)

This Study of 400,000 People Reveals the 1 Reason Employees Work Harder (and It's Not Pay or Benefits or Culture Decks) | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

Forget slogans and posters. Forget mission statements. Forget culture decks. A survey of over 400,000 people across the U.S. found that when employees believe promotions are managed effectively, they are more than two times as likely to give extra effort at work -- and to plan for having a long-term future with their company.

But wait, there's more: When employees believe promotions are managed effectively, they are more than five times as likely to believe their leaders act with integrity.

The result? At those companies, employee turnover rates are half that of other companies in the same industry. Productivity, innovation, and growth metrics outperform the competition. For public companies, stock returns are almost three times the market average.

Great Study of 400k employees . So don't waste time on that culture deck ...Promote your best people... if teams matter promote the best team player... if productivity matters promote the best at that... the companies that do this have less turnover, more innovation and better engagement . Carrier Guidance big key. #ADPELEFY18 #offthebenchleadership  #Workhappy #hellowork

Guest Post: Time Keeps on Slipping (So, use it productively)!

Paying enough effort and time is a key to success. However, sometimes the effort and time are not enough to get what you want. The matter is that we get the desired result when we properly use all the resources available. In this lies the real effectiveness that can help you to achieve what you want.

There are thousands of examples when people have several spare hours per day for accomplishing their goals but they never get what they want. And there are thousands of examples when people who have almost no free time get everything they want: they combine work and study, family and business, travel and full-time job. Why does this happen? In fact, the answer to this question lies in personal productivity and ability to manage time properly.

Ten Popular Ed Tech Tools That Were Updated This Summer

Ten Popular Ed Tech Tools That Were Updated This Summer | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

A couple of weeks ago I published a round-up of popular ed tech tools that were updated this summer. I had a couple of readers ask if they could print the post to pass out in their schools. Yes, you can. To make it easier to print I put the post into PDF format. In creating the PDF I changed some of the "click here" items to written URLs for finding video demonstrations of updated features. The PDF is embedded below, you can also click here for the PDF.

"Ok, so I had this really interesting email from Janie:

I saw your discussion on the TCEA forum and would like to look at the epub version of your App Smasher's Guide.
I am embarrassed to have to ask, but can you tell me how to get it into iBook on my iPad?
I tried just clicking on it from the post
I tried downloading and emailing to myself. (too large for my gmail)
I tried putting it in my dropbox
I tried putting it on my GoogleDrive
I looked at the iBook store

"Jumpin' Jehosophat! That's a lot of work. Watch this video on how to get free The Definitive App Smashers Guide."

Jim Lerman's insight:

Web smashing is using a combination of apps to obtain a desired outcome that could not be achieved by using a single app.

10 Productive Tasks You Should Be Doing On Google+ Right Now

10 Productive Tasks You Should Be Doing On Google+ Right Now | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

Google+ had a hot start, but has since cooled down. For a lot of people, that means ignoring Google+. I want to warn you that is a bad idea.

Although the lights are on and it seems like nobody is home, trust me: there are people there. And they are the very people who can have a huge impact on your blog and business.

Why Google+ isn’t going anywhere

Google+ is designed to draw you away from both Twitter and Facebook. And in time, it could do this.

Yes, Facebook has over 800 million users. People like to state that number and then say “Facebook isn’t going anywhere.” Fair enough. But people do migrate. It happened to AOL. And it could happen to Facebook. In fact, former Facebook president Sean Parker says influencers are already moving from FB to Twitter and Google+.
