En marketing, a great image is often a key component of the message. Constant need for pictures can dig deep into your pocket when using stock photography. If you want a particular image, then it makes sense to pay for the stock images as it will be a lot cheaper than to hire a photographer. What to do when you need images all the time, but their marketing lifespan can be measured only in days, maybe hours? Images for Facebook posts, email newsletters, individual slides in presentations that you use only once… Paying 10 or 20 dollars per image for these adds up. So where do you get free images? I have collected a bunch of sites that give you exactly that… free images for commercial use.

Top Tech Trends and People of 2012

Here is the textbook that I created/curated for teaching my New Media Technology class during the Spring semester of 2012 at Hannam University's Linton Global College. I took great effort to give credit where it is due. I aimed to show my students how they could access enough free info on the web that was of equal or greater value than the wonderful information found in expensive textbooks. Feel free to share and please support the true authors of this book in any way you can (money, likes, blog comments, links, etc.) I am simply the currator of this content.

If you would like a free tablet-friendly PDF file, just email me at kenmorrison30 @ yahoo.com (no spaces)

Essential Skills for 21st Century Survival: Part 6: Storytelling

Essential Skills for 21st Century Survival: Part 6: Storytelling | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

"In today’s polarized and fractured narrative landscape, the winners are those who can get above the noise and weave new mythologies that act as a beacon of light for the path ahead."

How here's some great food for thought about storytelling, how our cultural landscape is changing, and new stories that are emerging via businesses. The author suggests we've fallen into a myth gap.  As the author says, "People are disillusioned and lacking trust, and a new story infused with simplicity, aesthetics, beauty and grace will go far."

Are your stories big enough? Are they sustainable over time and space? Do your stories touch on the qualities the author lists?

I would love to know what do you think about this article & video and how it might shape your thinking/actions in 2012.....
