The Best Features of iOS 13: Maps, Photos, Privacy, Health - WIRED

The Best Features of iOS 13: Maps, Photos, Privacy, Health - WIRED | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

"ON MONDAY OF this week, Apple released the iOS 13 public beta, which, as its name suggests, is prerelease software that the general public can now download and test on their iPhones. The new software should do all of the things that an upgrade typically does for phones: It should make your iPhone, even an aging one, faster and more efficient. It will also add privacy and security enhancements.

But iOS 13 is also supposed to be transformative in a lot of ways. It will make your Photos app a pleasant destination, not a slog through a camera roll. It will let you use your Apple ID to sign into more apps and websites. And thanks to Dark Mode, it will make iOS look different."

This article and video talk about the launch of the new Apple products like a credit card, arcade, apple news plus and apple tv plus. The company announced these on March 25th, 2019. They did not say when the product will be available to the customer. It looks all the product will hit the market this summer. This will be the first-time apple will be stepping on the credit card market. It will be interesting, how the customer will react to this product. The credit card looks promising and stylish too.

Apple Takes On Distracted Driving With New Feature : The Two-Way : NPR | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it
We all know that cellphones and driving can be a dangerous mix, and yet a quick glance at the sound of a ping can be irresistible to many motorists.

So beyond turning off your cellphone or leaving it at home, Apple has a new solution aimed at keeping drivers' eyes off the screen and on the road. When Apple's iOS 11 update comes out this fall, it will include a "Do Not Disturb While Driving" mode.

Retina MacBook Destroys Regular MacBook: 15 Eye-Popping Examples | Mashable

Retina MacBook Destroys Regular MacBook: 15 Eye-Popping Examples | Mashable | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

By Peter Pachal

"The new MacBook Pro is here, and by far the most compelling feature is its pixel-rich retina display. The new MacBook packs more than 5 million pixels into a 15-inch, 2,880 x 1,800 screen.

"Big numbers — but just how much do they change what you’re looking at? Quite a lot, actually.

"Like the iPad before it, the MacBook’s jump to retina resolutions makes for a much better visual experience. You can, however, only really tell the difference when you put the Retina MacBook Pro next to an identically sized MacBook Pro from the previous generation.

"Luckily, we happen to have one of both here at Mashable for a side-by-side comparison.

'The results are palpable. After firing up Safari and checking out NASA’s Flickr feed on both machines (which has tons of high-resolution pictures), a crowd of Mashable staff was soon oohing and ahhing at how much more detail, color and contrast was visible on the Retina Pro. Most icons and text looked sharper, too.

30 Days with Siri

30 Days with Siri | Into the Driver's Seat | Scoop.it

Disclaimer: Apple has done such a good job of giving a Siri a persona that many times throughout this article I will refer to Siri as ‘her’ or ‘she’. Thanks for making me think my phone is a person, Apple.

This is the tale of a 2 hour a day commuter, 8 hour a day Fortune 500 company employee, and part time Lifehack editor living in the USA using Siri over the last 30 days. Enjoy.

It’s hard to believe that the iPhone 4S has already been out for a month. In this small amount of time we’ve seen iPhone 4S battery issues come and go, Siri outages, and data usage problems (that may not really be problems). But, just like every year, the iPhone proves to be one of the best selling smart phones of all time. It isn’t really surprising, is it?...
