In my organisation I lead on providing CPD for a small team and providing meaningful, cost-effective opportunities for learning and gaining know how at a micro scale can be challenging.  We’ve taken part in open online courses like Blended Learning Essentials and 23 things, we have a regular ‘show & tell’ slot at weekly team meetings, we take part in events and the networks we support and we sometimes have guests who share their work with us.

Traditional classroom training programs are dwindling fast and eLearning has become the favorite. In fact, eLearning requires 40 to 60% less time than traditional learning methods. With the number of smartphone users projected to rise to approximately 2.7 billion by 2019, eLearning on the go is the most convenient way to gain new skills. When people use smartphones to answer questions or gain any skillset, they expect concise and simple information that gets to the point and does not take long to read and understand. Microlearning has become the answer for people to learn almost anything quickly. The explosion of YouTube is a testament to this.
