Great selection of whiteboard Apps.

Greg Atkinson's curator insight, March 13, 2015 10:59 AM

Although this article lends itself more to mobile learning, I thought that I should begin to incorporate "there's an app for that" stories that will have relevance for hybrid learning.  This piece highlights 4 "interactive whiteboard" apps (Doceri, ShowMe, Explain Everything, and EduCreations).  Although I have not used any of these apps, Doceri looks intriguing in that it apparently allows you to sync your iPad to the technology into the classroom so that you can project what is on your iPad onto the classroom Smartboard.

8 Ways To Unlock The Power Of Your Interactive Whiteboard - Edudemic

Interactive whiteboards are a great classroom tool. Many teachers use them to project and capture images - basically as a high tech, connected chalkboard.

IWB denial

What kind of an IWB denier are YOU?...

Slides for starting discussion in workshops for teaching language with the interactive whiteboard: 10 reasons why teachers might be reticent about this technology in the language class.

I've used them as a warm-up activity with secondary and university language teachers in the iTILT project (Interactive Technologies in Language Teaching; http://itilt.eu).  Participants tend to go for CBA (or, as they prefer, "too busy") and Murphy's Law - one more thing to go wrong.

Any other responses welcome :-)
