"The Program to Strengthen the Lebanese Parliament through the Development of a Legislative Resource Center in Lebanon (PSLP) is a United States Agency for International Developmentfunded legislative strengthening program designed to improve the administrative support services of the Lebanese Parliament and assist the Parliament in the establishment of a resource center which will serve as a leader in information and training in the Arab world. The program is implemented by the State University of New York/Center for International Development (SUNY/CID). SUNY/CID is a leading university-based international development center enhancing knowledge and practice in the area of governance and policy making. Over the past quarter century, SUNY/CID has provided technical assistance to over 30 parliaments and regional parliamentary associations world wide. This glossary has been prepared to provide the staff of the Lebanese Parliament with political, legislative and legal terms that they may encounter in their work. The glossary provides an English/Arabic and Arabic/English translation of those terms."

"This Glossary is intended as an aid for reading and writing English-language documents about education development in Laos. It lists more than 2000 abbreviations, terms, expressions, and definitions in official or common usage found in literature specifically concerning development of education and training in Lao PDR.

Where usage is primarily associated with one organization, that fact is noted. No organization has a monopoly on words, however, and terms originating in one organizational context can migrate to others, sometimes with slightly modified form or meaning. Wherever possible, such variations are noted. Terms originating in individual projects are entered into the Glossary only if they gain significant usage outside the immediate project context."
