This Scoop. it! and the linked website provide a excellent overview and detailed description of the uses and relevance of digital story telling in an educational setting.  From this page a teacher can gain an understanding of not only the practical elements of digital story telling; such as video, audio, graphics and web publishing; but also the important aspects of content.  This includes emotional content, point of view and pacing of the story to name a few.  Using this Scoop. it! will provide teachers with instructional videos on the uses of digital story telling; the digital tools and websites that can be used for digital story telling; and the important elements of any form of story telling.  

This resource will allow teachers to gain a comprehensive understanding of digital story telling in the educational field and how it can benefit not only them but their students educational journeys as well.

In addition to enhancing conventional outcomes for history and English subjects; digital story telling can also be of great importance when enhancing and improving students 21st century skills.  The use of digital story telling helps promote digital literacy, global and cultural literacy, visual and creative skills, technological literacy and information literacy (Brown, Bryan & Brown, 2005) and engagement.  This Scoop. it! influenced my mini unit design by convincing me to utilise a multimedia presentation as part of the students task.  Students will now demonstrate their learning through a written article and a digital story or presentation.
