Another proof what we call 'time' isn't chronological but spatial, the leap change in short period.

Content Curation defined

Content curation is the ongoing finding and sharing of relevant digital and non-digital content about a specific topic for a specific audience. Typically, this content will come from a variety of properly credited sources and will be collated in such a way that the collection will be more useful than its individual elements.

Pinterest is a visual social network. What the hell does that mean? When I say visual, I mean everything is based on pictures and short explanations of those pictures.

How can we build better filters for growing flows of information?

How can we build better filters for growing flows of information? | Digital Curation in Education | Scoop.it

Nicola Bruno, cofounder of Effecinque and a journalist fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford) goes the startup route "with the intent of being relentless hunters of news and human filters of information."...

Heres what got my attention:

As the digital flood sweeps into our lives every imaginable kind of information, much of it offering nothing more than a smoke screen to blur or distort our view, figuring this out is crucial.

Who or what can help us see beyond the smoke? Will software like Stats Monkey give us reason to believe that we are swimming only in facts with its mechanical certainty? And what will be the role of journalists in a media landscape in which reporters and news items are little more than commodities, and, in the case of reporters, a soon-to-be redundancy?

LibraryBox - Free Content

LibraryBox - Free Content | Digital Curation in Education | Scoop.it

Inspired by the PirateBox project by David Darts, LibraryBox is a self-contained digital resource sharing device. LibraryBox utilizes Free, Libre and Open Source software (FLOSS) to create mobile wireless file access networks where users can download digital content.

PirateBox, and thus LibraryBox, is designed to be safe and secure. No logins are required and no user data is logged. The system is purposely not connected to the Internet in order to prevent tracking and preserve user privacy.

Content curation is part of an overall strategy to tame information chaos. For me, it’s all about knowing, learning, sharing and teaching, all in one!

Here I am exploring the concept, theory and practice of social networking technologies within the context of libraries and the work of information professionals.
