Use These 15 Tips to Improve Your Email #Marketing | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
We’ve all heard that “the money is in the list”.  Whether that’s an email list, or a list of blog subscribers – staying in touch with timely, fun and informative information can be daunting. If you’ve ever struggled with coming up with ideas on what to send your email list, struggle no longer. Here areMore

I selected this article from Curatti written by Susan Gilbert because it provides insight into how to improve your email marketing with 15 different approaches.

Improve your open rates by catching the reader's attention.

Send Out Emails That Get Opened

You can improve your chances of your business emails being seen by using creativity and enticing content. I agree that this will help reduce your bounce rates and improve your reach.

Gilbert provides 15 tips in a helpful infographic with bonus tips covering email subject lines.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Tell a recent story your business experienced. Point out what you learned and how it changed your approach. People are drawn to transparency.

  • Write about something simple that the reader can do right away. For example, a ten minute workout that they can begin now.

  • Provide a hint about a new product release. Building anticipation makes great content and increase your sales once you launch your product.

Avoid These 10 Business Email Errors

Avoid These 10 Business Email Errors | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
Writing business emails is not as straightforward and simple as we would like to think. One small unintentional error can quickly take things south.

Via janlgordon
janlgordon's curator insight, January 17, 2017 12:25 AM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Niraj Ranjan because it covers how to best approach your prospects.

Some phrases are outdated and inappropriate for business emails.

How to Communicate With Your Subscribers

It just takes a few words to lose the attention of a potential customer. I agree that in order to have more sales you should write your message in a way that is appealing and does not have a direct sales pitch.

Ranjan explains several phrases that do not work well for business emails.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • An overused cliche is, "Don't hesitate to contact me." It is not only over polite, but also sounds too phony. People are already aware that they can approach your business for further clarification on information.

  • Avoid filler phrases such as, "I hope you're well." These are hollow statements without true meaning or emotion. Instead keep the introduction light, and get straight to the point.

  • If your prospect asks a question responding with, "I don't know" is unprofessional. This gives the reader the wrong impression -- instead offer an answer that allows you to get back to them with the right information that they are looking for.

The very purpose of the Internet (every blog, website and virtual gathering place within it) is to let people connect, communicate, and collaborate.

That said, the concept behind Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social networking tools isn’t new. These sites just give us new, easy-to use ways to do what we’ve always wanted to do online — exchange ideas and information. The Internet has always been social, and it always will be.
Here’s a handy timeline that might dispel any further historical myths about the true nature of the Internet, and where we’re all going with it, together…

Find Your Blogging Voice

Find Your Blogging Voice | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
The biggest of all blogging mistakes is blending into the faceless crowd, writing without anything approaching a unique blogging style or genuine voice

Via janlgordon
janlgordon's curator insight, June 1, 2017 5:16 PM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Andy Capaloff because it provides insight into how to create great content with your unique voice.

Generate personalized articles that your audience will love.

How to Craft Unique Content

When it comes to blogging you need to stand out from the crowd. I agree that in order to attract readers your posts need to be fresh and original.

Capaloff shows how to effectively create your own unique voice in your writing.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Capture the essence of who you are in your articles. This is how to become an authentic blogger with a unique voice.

  • Become a second level communicator by writing about something that has been covered yet offers a different perspective. This way your content is adding value for your readers.

  • There are many different writing styles out there -- find one that works best for you. This could be a friendly approach, a teaching perspective, a storyteller, ect.

4 Easy Ways to Improve Customer Communication

4 Easy Ways to Improve Customer Communication | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

Imagine trying to communicate with customers that speak 11 different languages and come from dozens of different cultures. How would you help them understand how to manage their debt when they never had credit before? On a recent episode of mypodcast, YPO's 10 Minute Tips From the Top, I interviewed Ian Wason, CEO ofIntelligent Debt Management (IDM), on how he solved these exact problems.

Wason, a member of Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), related how his company is able to help clients in South Africa overcome their debt issues with a 90 percent success rate, which is substantially higher than his competitors. The key for him is strong and creative communication. Here are his tips for communicating effectively with your customers.

1. Identify their pain.

Successful communication with a customer starts with understanding. By identifying their needs, you are more likely to develop an appropriate solution. Moreover, by showing them empathetically that you understand their pain, they will also see that you care and will be more willing to work with you.
