I selected this article from Curatti written by Ruchika Sharma
because it provides insights on how to improve your content curation plan.

Focus on engaging your audience with a solution and strong call to action.

How to Use Effectively Publish Content

Content should be tailored for your target audience's needs and desires. I agree that you can be successful by appealing to their pressing questions and offering them a compelling solution that they will want to buy into.

Sharma explains the basics of content planning that stands out to your community.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Look for previously published content to find at least 5 top keywords for your article. Recommended tools are ahrefs and Buzzsumo.

  • Define your topics early on and then brainstorm. Answer the where, what, why and how for your readers.

  • It's important to optimize not only your content, but your images as well. This will then help you to optimize your keyword choices.

Create a monthly action plan for your articles with the right keywords.

How to Use Keywords Effectively

Content should be made for your target audience. I agree that you can reach more people by conducting research to discover the most applicable topics.

Sharma explains the basics of content planning through keyword research.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Narrow down your focus to ten keywords that you would like to see ranked high on Google. Take a look at what is already showing up in the #1 spot.

  • Go to Google and research titles, descriptions, and H1 tags. This will give you insights into your competitors' rankings and which organic keywords they are using.

  • After conducting research you should have at least 50 keywords on your list for your brand. The next step is to formulate long tail words that fit your niche and copy.

SEO is not about tricking Google search, but delivering relevant and original content.

Your business can achieve improved search engine rankings and subscribers with attractive content. I agree that understanding how methods are done today can help you get seen online.

Jantsch explains both the website elements and SEO editorial plan that affect search ranking.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • A website needs to be seen as a marketing tool. Not only does it need an SEO backbone, but also appeal to the customer journey or experience.

  • Effective content is more about being relevant that eloquent. It should answer your audience's biggest questions or concerns.

  • Use keyword research not only to optimize your content, but to also learn more about your customers. Find out what they are searching for and why.

Do Keywords Matter?

Do Keywords Matter? | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
Keyword research. The process goes something like this:

- Make a list of important topics.
- Write important keywords under each of those topics.
- Plug the list into Google Keyword Planner to get data and other ideas.

- Rinse, Repeat.

What if I told you that this process is a waste of time? What if I told you that your focus should be on topics, not keywords?

You probably already know that keyword research doesn’t matter as much as it used to.

We’re in a new era of SEO. It’s like everything that we ever knew — keywords, backlinks, etc. — is being ripped out and torn up.

Where does this leave us? What should we do instead of keyword research? What do we tell our clients? How to we get our websites to rank? Do keywords even matter?

Neil Patel decided to answer these questions by conducting an advanced research project. Instead of going with hunches or making guesses, he crunched hundreds of thousands of data points.

Unlike getting viral on social media, search engines can’t be pleased overnight.

But, once you’ve built authority in their eyes, then search traffic doesn’t fade away like other sources.

Search traffic is stable, scalable and free.

Most users do most of their web surfing through Google. The explosion in popularity of Google Chrome as a web browser means that users won’t see other search engines during their content discovery.

Google probably didn’t lose its mojo. Neither will it lose its monopolistic market share, any time soon.

But, it’s worth considering other search engines, like Bing and Yahoo for your enterprise. This is especially true, given that they get a higher conversion rate.

How to Dominate #SEO in 2017: 8 Crucial Rules For Dominating Google's Search Results

How to Dominate #SEO in 2017: 8 Crucial Rules For Dominating Google's Search Results | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

'The truth? Most people look at SEO the wrong way. They look at ways to do the least amount of work for the greatest initial return, when in fact, it’s quite the opposite.

Obviously SEO is one of the best skills that you can possibly learn, but in order to succeed with it, you need to do the most amount of work for the least initial return. It’s a slow, steady and painful process, but that’s also the nature of the beast.

Simply put, in the beginning, Google doesn’t trust you. If Google doesn’t trust you, you’re not going to rank on those lucrative first-page SERPs.

You’ll be lost in the fray amidst millions of others who’re trying to claw their way to the top. So, the first real guiding principle of SEO is trust.

When you have Google’s trust, you’ll consistently rank highly. When you lack its trust, you’ll be lost in an abysmal sea of low-ranking webpages. And no one wants that'.

Complete guide to keyword research for #SEO

Complete guide to keyword research for #SEO | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
'Keywords are the backbone of SEO.

They represent all the phrases which you type into Google search box when surfing the net. Having this in mind, you can quickly establish that SEO is a user-oriented profession.

In fact, expert’s proficiency can be measured by their ability to discover trending keywords and rank for them. In other words, SEOs ability to perform keyword research.

Similarly to any commercial products, there are two main things that should concern us – the strength of our competition and the demand for a certain keyword.

By using SEO terminology, we can say that two main factors of keyword research are:

- Search Volume (number of monthly searches)
- Keyword Difficulty (competitiveness of a keyword).
