Ce terme est issu du titre d’un conte écrit au début du XVIIIe siècle, Les Aventures des trois princes de Serendip, qui connait alors assez vite le succès et inspire notamment le Zadig de Voltaire. Ce mot désigne des « découvertes inattendues, faites grâce au hasard et à l’intelligence » comme la découverte fortuite de l’Amérique par Christophe Colomb parti sur la route des Indes et, bien plus tard, l’invention accidentelle de la pénicilline par Alexandre Fleming..." THE TIMELINE: It is easy to see the flow and organization of the events and how they interact with one another. However it is difficult to put a lot more essential information because it needs to be kept neat and organized.
