Die meisten Schadprogramme nutzen bekannte Lücken in populärer Software aus. Dabei handelt es sich sogar nur um ganz wenige Tools, die einen Großteil der insgesamt bekannten Sicherheitslücken auf sich versammeln.
Hält man diese wenigen Programme immer auf dem aktuellen Stand, dann ist der eigene Windows-Rechner bereits relativ sicher. Mit wenig Aufwand erreicht man also viel Sicherheit.

Und täglich grüßt die Flash-Lücke: Nur eine Woche war Ruhe, jetzt ist die nächste kritische Schwachstelle aufgetaucht. Da diese bereits ausgenutzt wird, sollte Flash wieder ein mal abgeschaltet werden.

A little over a month ago, Mozilla has announced that Firefox will be preventing all plug-ins except the current version of Flash from loading automatically, requiring users who explicitly want to use them to start them themselves.
