I used to be a prime guy... FujiFilm XF 50-140

I used to be a prime guy... FujiFilm XF 50-140 | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Up until recently I was proud to call myself a 'prime shooter'. My camera bag was full of sharp, fast, Fuji prime lenses. The first two lenses I purchased when buying my X-T1 were the 14mm f2.8 and the 35mm f1.4 After a few weeks, I returned to my camera store to pick up the 23mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2, my set of 'primes' was complete.

Time lapse exposure of the city with the Fuji X-T1 | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
I have always wanted to take a time lapse photo of New York at night, realizing there would be a problem dealing with the city lights with such a long exposure. Last night I gave it try while some clouds were moving behind the Empire State Building.

Fuji X-T10 ~ A mini marvel – My first 80 portraits

Fuji X-T10 ~ A mini marvel – My first 80 portraits | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

My first workshops in France for over 10 years got off to an amazing start. The Fuji X-T10 arrived the day before we left and that gave me the time needed to set it up just how I wanted (or so I thought). I’d spent a couple of hours working out how I was going to set the ISO without a top plate dial and how I was going to trim my exposure to 1/3 stop increments. I thought I had it sussed then I started shooting for real in France. It was only when I had shot with the big zoom, the small primes, in the dark and with flash that I had gathered enough experience to make the final changes to my X-T10 set up. All will be revealed below. Every shot I took in France was with the X-T10 camera (in silver).

Fujifilm X-T10 Digital Camera Review

Fujifilm X-T10 Digital Camera Review | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
As has become common in the industry, Fuji is building on that success by taking the X-T1's blueprint and trimming features (and thus price) to produce the new X-T10 (MSRP $799.99 body-only). While this camera is a significant step down from the flagship X-T1, it still has most of the X-T1's best features–plus a few of its own.

Xpert Advice: In-Camera Multiple Exposures Made Simple - The Phoblographer (blog)

Multiple Exposures, otherwise known as Double Exposures, are a creative option that many manufacturers implement into their cameras. These images take two or more photos and stack them on top of one another to create one single photo. It allows for many creative possibilities but they can also be a bit tricky to do.

With some cameras like the Fujifilm XT-1, you’ll be able to switch the drive dial to the multiple exposure mode and quickly get to shooting. When using other cameras like the X Pro 1, you’ll need to enable the setting in the menu.

Eugene Fratkin Photo Blog: Fuji X-T10 review

I am a fan of several camera lines. This testifies of the number of great offerings that companies are producing for photographers today. It is hard to find a modern camera that is truly crippling. But there clearly some that raise above the rest in specific respects.

Loveshoot In Amsterdamse Bos With X-T1

Loveshoot In Amsterdamse Bos With X-T1 | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
This week I had the chance to do a beautiful loveshoot in Amsterdamse Bos using my Fujifilm X-T1 and the XF 35mm and 56mm Lenses. A great landscape with a great couple. Congrats on the engagement guys and good luck with the wedding next year.It was late in the evening about a couple of hours before sunset so just about perfect light The sun went behind the clouds and I got the feeling the light wasn't going to be great so we decided to shoot in the shade with a lot of backlight. This worked well. We also shot some in the woods with minimal light and the new firmware version 4.0 seemed to help with the low light focussing. I didn't nail the focus all the time but that might have been my skills and not the cameras issue. On the whole I cant recommend this camera enough and the lenses also. They are just great. When I switched over from my Canon 5d3 for weddings and portrait work earlier in the year it was a nervous time for me but to be honest its been like a dream. The Fujis are easy to carry for a whole day and do exactly what you want. My user experience has been fantastic, although there was a bit of a learning curve.

A Walk With My New Fuji X-T1

A Walk With My New Fuji X-T1 | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it
Well, it isn’t exactly new…rather like-new :). If you’re on any of my social networks, then you probably already know that I ended up getting a Fuji X-T1 recently. It happened spontaneously. I had absolutely no intentions of upgrading but my uncle was going to trade in his X-T1 for something different. Instead, he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse: he offered to take my X-E2 in exchange for his X-T1 to use as a trade in. The X-T1 was barely used (he works quite a bit, so he doesn’t have much spare time anymore), and seeing as there were a lot of features that I wanted from it, I jumped at the chance.

A "Sharp" Lens | Fuji XF90mm F2 R LM WR

A "Sharp" Lens | Fuji XF90mm F2 R LM WR | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

I rarely ever write more than a few times about a particular piece of gear...unless something significant comes up. This is...the fourth time I think, and because of 40+ emails about it. I apologize for not being clear in the previous posts about the XF90mm F2 R LM WR. It's SHARP lol...

Sharp as in: Until recently you bought a "fast" F1.2 lens but had to stop it down to F2. For instance, my old Canon EF50mm F1.4 USM... sharper at F2, but was only sharp across the frame from F2.8 onwards so basically you are paying a premium for an F2.8 lens.

The sharpshooter: Fuji’s 50-140mm f/2.8 lens

The sharpshooter: Fuji’s 50-140mm f/2.8 lens | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

I switched from Canon to Fuji for a number of reasons, the obvious one being the compactness of the Fuji X system. For me there’s no doubt that mirrorless bodies and smaller lenses are more fun and freeing than the heavyweight Canon 5D Mark III and full frame glass I used to own.

Barcelona Street Photography: Review of the Fuji X-T1wifi function and VSCOcam app | Fujifilm X Series APS C sensor camera | Scoop.it

Last week I had a short break in the wonderful city of Barcelona. This was not only my first trip to this beautiful city but would also be the first time I got to try my hand at a spot of street photography using my Fuji X-T1.

In this particular blog I shall be reviewing three things: The Fujinon XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR, The Wifi function & Fujifilm Camera Remote app and finally the VSCOcam app  for post production work.
