“..This evening the Kansas House of Representatives voted on and passed HB2502. HB2502 had the BB gun legislation that I have been working on since before the 2016 legislative session began. This piece of legislation will offer the children of Kansas the opportunity to continue to compete in BB gun competitions and practices inside of school facilities. It will also allow children to learn valuable gun safety lessons. I would not have been able to accomplish this legislation without the help and guidance of other representatives, staff members and senators. Thank you to all who supported this legislation and helped get it through the process. HB2502 will now go to the governor for him to sign…”

CONGRATS going out to our new Kansas buddy with an "R" next to his name...for keeping it REAL in the heartland, and getting this potentially-precident setting state bill on the way to Governor Sam Brownback for his signature!

There is A LOT more going on behind-the-scenes in the European Union than this simple press release might suggest.  We'd also point you to the great posts coming from the UK Airsoft Players Union (UKAPU Website HERE & FACEBOOK Link HERE) and guys like Matt Furey-King to get a more well-rounded perspective.  None-the-less, STAY FROSTY and HEAD ON A SWIVEL EU Players!  The fight is far from over, the battle not-yet won!

“…As you should be aware, since November last year the EU has been considering a proposal to amend the firearms directive which would classify replicas, including airsoft devices, as real firearms. They also wanted to ban any firearm of ‘military appearance’.

The result would be that nearly all airsoft devices would fall foul of the law and be banned from use by the public, and the few types that would be allowed would be extremely difficult for people to obtain and had to be registered individually. The authors of the proposal set out to get rid of replicas and thereby wipe out airsoft in the whole of Europe. We were looking at airsoft armageddon.

The European Airsoft Association was founded specifically to react to such a threat. Over the last 5 months we have done everything possible to save airsoft….”

This looks to-be THE place that will be coordinating the fight to SAVE AIRSOFT in Massachusetts….and it will be both a fight and, if it fails, the DEATH of airsoft as game in Mass., as well as a harbinger of anti-Airsoft legislation across the country. That is not hype. If we ALL do not get behind CRUSHING this bill, Airsoft in the USA has a roadmap for destruction.

California was just the beginning. Massachusetts H-3476 is the bitter end.

SHARE THIS EVERYWHERE, Sign the petitions as a start…and stand by for the call-to-arms to save our game. THUMPY….OVER!

“The law commission has today published its report on firearms which you can read here;

There’s a good chance it will be put into law, as this is the case with law commission reports generally. From our perspective the most interesting parts are that they state that the lethality threshold should be set to 1J, but that an airsoft exemption should be created (based around the VCRA 2006 specific exemption). They recommend setting this exemption at 1.3J/2.5J in line with the 2011 ACPO testing. This is great news. Sensible conclusions, no more ‘airsoft legal limit’ grey areas, and they’ve listened to the airsoft associations. Also note that we were supported by BASC and GTA….Matt Furey-King, Chairman UK Airsoft Players Union…”

Seriously.  Is this the best you can do EU at a time of crisis?  If I was in Europe, I’d be seriously pissed even if I was not an airsofter…but you guys who have the RIGHT to play need to stand up now for ALL YOUR RIGHTS!  AIRSOFTERS ARE NOT CRIMINALS…and they don’t need to be made into criminals at a time when resources are stretched so thin to take the wolves out of the midst of law-abiding people around the world!   DO.  THIS.  NOW!

“IT’S NOT ALWAYS EASY TO TELL: This past weekend, we got called out to a report of two men with guns outside an elementary school. We arrived and spotted one person with a black handgun. He held tight to the gun and jumped behind a brick column when he spotted us. Then, we saw the other person, standing father back with two guns at his feet.
This dynamic situation had the very real potential to escalate to a use of deadly force. Fortunately, our officers skillfully controlled and de-escalated this situation and safely got these two people to come out without the weapons. The two involved turned out to be juveniles and their weapons turned out to be Airsoft guns, The gun held in the hand of one of the young men had its bright orange tip colored over with black marker.
We ask you to carefully consider choosing a replica gun as a toy for your child or teen. We ask you to educate your children about the purpose of that bright orange marking and let them know it should never be altered. We ask you to talk to your kids about the very real dangers of pointing a weapon at people, even a fake weapon. This scenario could have resulted in a terrible tragedy. Instead, please help us turn this into a teaching moment.
We ask you to share this message with your friends and family….”
