The 2015 annual profile report of international buyers in Florida states, the share of purchases from the U.K. has declined significantly from 21 percent in 2008, to just 5 percent in 2015. But Central Florida remains a hotspot for British investment, with such local connections as British-born Phil Rawlins, founder and president of the Orlando City Soccer Club; the Orlando Eye, which is ultimately owned by U.K.-based Merlin Entertainment; and Tavistock Development, founded by British businessman Joe Lewis.
