Often times we think Project Based Learning is something new and up and coming. When really PBL is a learning model that has evolved for many years. Back in the prehistoric times, their entire livelihood was essentially project based. They were handed many problems and they had to adapt and adjust their lives to survive.

Flipping the classroom to a Project Based Model is a process that takes time. It takes time to learn and adapt for both educators and learners. Switching to a PBL model allows the learners to engage and process things through real life skills and scenarios. The educators are able to process with students and help them through problem solving skills.

How many of you students are really into video games? Project Based Learning is a great learning model for video games. For students it would be just like playing video games, but they wouldn't realize they are really learning! If this is the case... I don't think video games are ALL that bad!

Tony Vincent talks through Project Based Learning as a whole. He starts with the questioning process which allows for the projects to develop. Then it goes into investigating, which allows for the questions and problems to be discovered. Finally he talks through final products to share learning.

This learning template walks through the steps and parts of PBL. Learners will actively engage in each step as they work through each project. Some aspects will go more in depth, while others will just skim through each step.
