Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin rates tomorrow night's rivals, the Warriors, good enough to win September's NRL grand final.
While Griffin knows his side, which boasts seven players from this year's State of Origin series, can contest for the title, he believes the Warriors have both the class and talent required to take the premiership across the Tasman for the first time.
Jarrod Morfett is bigger than most adults but the New Zealand Rugby League says the Waitara teenager is not allowed to play in senior ranks.
"I'm gutted," was all he could say to the Taranaki Daily News yesterday.
Seventeen-year-old Morfett, who weighs 97 kilograms and stands 1.93metres (6ft 4in), has turned out four times this season for the Waitara Bears premier team in the Western Alliance competition.
PM: -----> Get this guy into the Junior Warriors!!!!!!!!
Konrad Hurrell thinks he just needs to harden up, but the Warriors won't take any risks and the blockbusting centre will miss Friday night's trip to take on the Broncos in Brisbane...
It wasn't always pretty but NRL wins don't have to be. This was a vital two points banked and will see the Warriors return to the top eight. The Titans, missing some of their top players, were competitive in the first period but faded badly after halftime. After 22 minutes the Warriors trailed 14-4 before scoring 28 unanswered points across the final hour.
After preying on a North Queensland Cowboys line-up weakened by the absence of Johnathan Thurston, Brent Tate, Matt Scott and former Kiwis prospect James Tamou at Mt Smart last Sunday. The ninth-placed Warriors are now favoured to bank another two competition points when they play the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park tonight, with Greg Bird and Nate Myles out with injury after Origin 3.
Front rower Siulongoua Fotofili (pictured) has collected the players’ player of the day award again following his display in the Vodafone Junior Warriors’ NYC victory over North Queensland last Sunday.
In all he carried the ball 12 times, made 124 metres, five tackle breaks and both sparked and finished a brilliant try.
Fotofili has been named to start from the interchange again in tomorrow night's match at Skilled Park.
Vodafone Warriors TV spoke with Manu Vatuvei about his early return to play Brisbane and how he managed the recovery process. Listen to what Manu had to say.
SIX GAMES, SIX MOMENTS: The Wolfman and two barnstorming rookies led their teams to victories but the NSW halves still couldn't find that winning field goal.
Warriors 32 def. Titans 14
The Moment: It was pretty clear what the game plan was for Warriors five-eighth James Maloney early in the second half with his side leading 16-14 – get the ball to Konrad Hurrell. The battleship-build rookie blew his trademark kisses twice in the opening half before making it a hat-trick five minutes after the break, fielding a long lobbed pass from Maloney to hit the afterburners 15 metres out and leave four Titans cover defenders shaking their head in disbelief at how such a simple play could still get the better of them. Possession told the story in this one – after an even share in the first 40 the Titans bumbled their way to 10 second-half errors to drag down their completions to an amateurish 40 per cent.
If Omar Slaimankhel scores a try against Newcastle Knights in a couple of weeks' time, don't expect to see the fledgling Warriors wing celebrate with the traditional quick swig of water.

ALMOST as popular as fellow Kiwi exports Flight of the Conchords, the Warriors last night made the same statement Australian audiences have been hearing from the comedy duo this month: ''It's business time.''
A Konrad Hurrell hat-trick has inspired the Warriors to a 32-14 NRL win over the Titans at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast.
The 21 year old centre was unstoppable tonight -using his size, strength and speed to help the Warriors overcome a 14-4 first half deficit - increasing his try tally to 12 for the season and helping his side to a crucial win.

"Sione Lousi and Matthew White have been regular contributors from the bench in 2012, here’s how they match up when the Titans host the Vodafone Warriors on Saturday."
