A Chester County town has been ranked as the best place to live Pennsylvania by Niche, a website that analyzes neighborhoods, school districts and colleges. Niche recently released its rankings of the 100 best places to live for each state. Sixty one Philadelphia-area communities cracked the top 100, including four that made the top 10.
To calculate the rankings and assign grades to communities, Niche looks at factors like the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics and access to amenities. Niche gets its data from government sources like the Department of Education, the FBI and the U.S. Census.
Some of the Philadelphia area communities near Newtown Township that made the Top 100 include:
62 - Yardley
77 - Newtown Grant
95 - Upper Makefield Township
98 – Newtown Borough
Newtown Township itself did NOT make the list despite having an “Overall Niche Grade” equivalent to Newtown Grant.
I guess Newtown Grant is the "biggest and the best" after all! But how does it get a B rating for nightlife, the same as Newtown Township that includes the Green Parrot and other popular night spots whereas Newtown Grant only has a club house that does not serve alcohol?
