Le gouvernement luxembourgeois confirme qu’il a été victime d’une cyber-attaque connue sous le nom de code «ItaDuke» qui vient d’être communiquée par les laboratoires Kaspersky.
En effet, grâce aux mesures de sensibilisation et de formation mises en place par le gouvernement, l'incident a été détecté par deux utilisateurs avertis qui ont eu le bon réflexe de rapporter de suite cette anomalie au GOVCERT. Une analyse en détail de l’incident a de suite été mise en place.

Le Luxembourg a été mentionné comme une des victimes d’une cyberattaque connue sous le nom de code "Red October"...
Les investigations menées par le Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) gouvernemental permettent de constater que l’attaque a été limitée à une machine du réseau informatique de l’État. L’analyse en détail de l’incident informatique par le CERT gouvernemental a permis de conclure que cette attaque peut être considérée comme n’étant pas exceptionnellement grave.
Des mesures de protection adéquates ont été mises en place, qui ont permis un arrêt immédiat de transferts illicites de données. Le gouvernement rappelle dans ce contexte que les mesures tant proactives que réactives mises en œuvre par les services compétents du gouvernement, notamment le Centre des technologies de l’information de l’État, ont permis de maîtriser l’attaque en question.

Le ministre François Biltgen salue l’inauguration du CENTRE EUROPÉEN DE LUTTE CONTRE LA CYBERCRIMINALITÉ (EC3)
Le ministre de la Justice et ministre des Communications et des Médias, François Biltgen, salue vivement l’ouverture du Centre européen de lutte contre la cybercriminalité (EC3), aujourd’hui 11 janvier 2013, qui sera localisé au siège de l'Office européen de police (Europol) à La Haye aux Pays-Bas.
« Vu la nature transfrontalière de l’espace numérique, la lutte efficace contre la cybercriminalité dépend d’une collaboration très étroite entre les États. En favorisant une réponse européenne encore mieux coordonnée et plus performante face aux actes de cybercriminalité, et en soutenant les États membres dans leur efforts de lutte contre la cybercriminalité, le nouveau centre européen représente un pas très important vers un espace numérique européen libre et sûr », s’est félicité le ministre.

LUXEMBOURG - Quelques jours après la divulgation de la fuite de données de 1,5 million d utilisateurs des chemins de fer belges, des milliers de noms au Grand-Duché ont été dévoilés.
«Ce fichier pourrait être utilisé à mauvais escient»
Le fichier, disponible en ligne et indexé par les moteurs de recherche depuis plusieurs semaines, contient ainsi non seulement les noms des clients de la SNCB, mais également les mails privés, les adresses et les identifiants de connexion au site belge. En revanche, les mots de passe n'y figurent pas. Une véritable mine d'informations que plusieurs dizaines d'internautes ont pu sauvegarder avant que le fichier ne soit retiré du site Internet des chemins de fer belges. Un fichier que certains experts, cités par les médias belges, estiment à quatre millions d'euros.

HACK.LU 2012 : RÉTROSPECTIVE - 06. 11. 2012
Du 23 au 25 octobre s’est tenue au Luxembourg la plus grande conférence en matière de « piratage électronique » de la Grande Région. Plus de 250 passionnés en informatique se sont ainsi retrouvés pour 3 jours au Park Hotel Alvisse à Dommeldange, où se déroulait la 8ème édition de la « Hack », connue également sous le nom de « Hack.lu ». Le «hacking », que l’on traduit en français par « action d’infiltrer, ou de pirater » est une activité pratiquée aussi bien par les cyber-criminels que par les responsables de sécurité informatique. Contrairement aux véritables pirates de la Toile, il s’agit pour ces derniers de procéder de manière éthique à des exercices d’attaque sur des systèmes informatiques, ceci dans le but d’apprendre à reconnaître les risques et dangers auxquels sont exposés les utilisateurs et d’appliquer les connaissances acquises en vue d’améliorer les infrastructures existantes.
Cette année le thème de la conférence était centré sur le rôle de « l’erreur humaine » dans les failles technologiques. Vaste sujet évoqué aussi bien lors des présentations publiques que dans les workshops spécialisés, permettant à chacun d’approfondir ses connaissances en la matière.

LUXEMBOURG - Un programme malicieux s'en prend, depuis ce week-end, aux utilisateurs de réseaux sociaux.
Un nombre grandissant d'utilisateurs du site de microblogging ont observé dans leur boîte de message privé une invitation baptisée «Vous êtes célèbre maintenant, haha». Un message suivi d'un lien vers une page Facebook comme contenu et qui fait référence à des comptes d'hommes et de femmes politiques luxembourgeois ou de comptes officiels de médias.

A new Eurobarometer survey shows that Internet users are very concerned about cyber security: 89% avoid disclosing personal information online, and 74% agree that the risk of becoming a victim of cybercrime has increased in the past year. 12% of internet users across the EU have already experienced online fraud, and 8% have fallen victim to identity theft.

Apple's OS X Mountain Lion (version 10.8) is due to be released next month, and its latest Developer Preview shows a new addition meant to keep its users secure: the automatic security check feature.
This new capability - "OS X Security Update Test 1.0" - will make the OS contact Apple's servers on a daily basis or every time the machine is started, download and automatically install updates, thus ensuring that the users always have the latest patches.
