On 3 April 2017 the Vice-President for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip was in Luxembourg in order to meet Xavier Bettel, Prime minister and Minister for Communications and Media, as well as Members of the Parliament.

The debate ''Data-Driven Public Administration and Digital Pole'' will focus on the potentials of data-driven decision-making at national and cross-border level  and on how the European Commission can further help. Representatives of the Luxembourg authorities and academia as well as participants from various Commission's Directorates-General CONNECT, DIGIT, Eurostat, Office of Publications, Joint Research Center and DG Translation will take part in the discussion. 

The scope and next steps in the roll-out of the Digital Pole will also be discussed. The Digital Pole, with the transfer of posts, units and directorates from DG DIGIT and DG CONNECT to Luxembourg, was initiated with the purpose to serve as a service centre for the entire EU. It will be an open platform for reflection on EU digital policy shaping and will provide operational digital service infrastructure support to Member States and data analytics expertise.
