Présidé par le Luxembourg depuis le 1er janvier, le «Parlement Benelux», qui réunit 49 élus des trois pays, a adopté samedi la recommandation visant à rendre gratuits les transports publics entre la Belgique et le Luxembourg.

Le Conseil interparlementaire consultatif du Benelux, plus communément appelé le «Parlement Benelux», est une «Europe qui fonctionne à trois», avait dit le Premier ministre, vendredi, à l’ouverture d’une session de deux jours à la Chambre des députés.

Et dans «fonctionne à trois», il y a «fonctionne». «Là où l’Union européenne n’arrive pas à avancer, le Benelux peut trouver des solutions et des positions communes.»

Samedi, les délégations des trois pays, 21 Belges, 21 Néerlandais et 7 Luxembourgeois, ont adopté une recommandation visant à rendre le transport public gratuit entre la Belgique et le Luxembourg.

Doctena, founded in 2013 and experiencing significant growth, partially as a result of numerous acquisitions, including DocBook (BE), Doxter (DE) and Terminland (DE), has announced that it is now acquiring the medical customer base of the Belgian firm Sanmax.

With the recent takeover of Sanmax, Doctena is strengthening its position as European market leader: 9,000 doctors are now using the online booking platform. “Our rapid growth proves that doctors believe in the digitalization of the booking process. With Doctena, medical practices save at least an hour a week by digitizing tasks”, explained Patrick Kersten, Founder and CEO of Doctena.

Sanmax has been in business since 1998, giving users the possibility to manage their online agenda. The doctors who have joined Doctena work in 25 different specialist areas. On average, 700,000 appointments per month are made via Sanmax and, on some days, the figure can rise to up to 40,000 appointments per day.

Der Staat hat für das letzte Studienjahr 111 Millionen Euro an die Studenten ausgezahlt. Das Geld soll ihnen helfen, ihre Studienkosten zu decken. Der Betrag ist seit ein paar Jahren flexibel. So gibt es die Grundhilfe, die jeder Student bekommt, eine zweite Hilfe, die je nach Gehalt der Eltern variiert und eine letzte Hilfe, die den Studenten zugute kommt, die im Ausland studieren.

29.927 Studenten haben laut Ministerium eine Hilfe für das vergangene Studienjahr beantragt. Davon waren 18.156 Einwohner Luxemburgs und 11.771 Kinder von Grenzgängern. Auch hier hat es vor einigen Jahren einen Paradigmenwechsel gegeben: Nachdem die Tochter eines Grenzgängers vor dem Europäischen Gerichtshof geklagt hatte, musste Luxemburg die Studienhilfen auch an Kinder von Grenzgängern zahlen.

Brüssel bleibt Top-Stadt

Die meisten luxemburgischen Einwohner studieren in Deutschland (4.205), gefolgt von Luxemburg mit 3.666 Studenten. Obwohl Belgien mit 3.464 Studenten lediglich auf dem dritten Platz landet, bleibt Brüssel die beliebteste Studentenstadt mit immerhin 1.432 Luxemburger Einwohner. Wirtschaft bleibt das beliebteste Studienfach.

Von den 18.000 luxemburgischen Einwohnern machen 12.224 gerade ihren Bachelor. Das sind die ersten drei Jahren eines Studiums. 3.982 arbeiten auf ihren Master hin, also die zwei Jahre, die auf den Bachelor folgen. 321 haben entschieden, nach dem Master noch auf einen Doktortitel hinzuarbeiten.
