Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2010 Monte Schiavo

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2010 Monte Schiavo | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it
This straw yellow Verdicchio is a great example of how fresh and fragrant this grape variety can be. With a perfumed bouquet of pineapple and citrus the palate is dry, elegant and distinct.

Verdicchio Wine – A Light Red Wine Wearing A White Wine Disguise?

Verdicchio Wine – A Light Red Wine Wearing A White Wine Disguise? | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it

‘Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi’ D.O.C (Denomination of Controlled Origin) is one of the most popular white wines in the world and has won numerous awards. The unusual nature of the soil in the Marche area, together with favourable climatic conditions and including the regular breeze (which prevents moisture and mould forming) provides a perfect environment for the development of the grapes. The wines produced in the most sunlit and ventilated areas tend to be more robust and can easily keep for 2 or 3 years, including a short period in oak.

Terra Grata - Montecarotto: distillate of Love in Le Marche

Terra Grata - Montecarotto: distillate of Love in Le Marche | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it

Terra Grata is a Farm  in Le Marche becoming famous producing traditional jams in these delicious flavours: Blackberry, Raspberry, Peach, Prunes, Cherry and Verdicchio Grapes.

If Terra Grata is attracting attention is because of its special product: Blackberry’s Acquavite. This distillate, named Amore (love), derives from the fermentation and distillation of blackberry that grow in the Farm: delicate fragrance, well defined and soft taste.

Verdicchio – the LBD of Italian grapes

Verdicchio – the LBD of Italian grapes | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it

On a recent trip to the Marches, I got to get up close to Verdicchio. I got to see violet bunches being nibbled by wasps as they hung in the late November sun, hover over concrete vats as the fermenting Verdicchio bubbled below and of course taste more of them than I can recall. But rather than the glass-swirling, for me the most interesting part is going to meet the family who make the wine, seeing the winery (no, not the bottling lines!) and getting a general feel for the place, not just the wines.

Fazi Battaglia, Le Marche - the history and the present of the Verdicchio

Fazi Battaglia, Le Marche - the history and the present of the Verdicchio | Good Things From Italy - Le Cose Buone d'Italia | Scoop.it

Dynamic and innovative are the two terms the best describe Fazi Battaglia. Yet, it is a winery of great history and world fame, the one who made the fortunes of Verdicchio, one of Italy's most cherished native grape varieties.
In 1949 the intuition and courage of entrepreneur Francesco Angelini, convinced of the Verdicchio grapes' enormous potential, pushed him to produce a small winery with an annual production of 60,000 bottles in Cupramontana, in the central Italian region of Le Marche.
