Once position and company expectations are known, introduce specific terms from the posting into your resume and cover letter. Don't smother your documents with terms though as the reader won't appreciate it.

Sure, your grades are important, but once you graduate and hit the office, these skills far outweigh your grade from stats class.
|
Many employers or recruiters have a checklist if you will of what the position requires and the competencies for the ideal candidate. Resist the urge to make yourself look like a CEO when you are applying for an entry level position.
My tips: Dummy proof your resume!
1. Target your summary and competencies at the top of your resume to reflect the experience the employer is seeking
2. Highlight the experience and skills that are relevant to the position you are applying for. (make them top and center)
3. If possible, re-purpose your accomplishments with language that is industry language
