La société japonaise Ispace procédera à deux lancements vers la Lune en collaboration avec la société de lanceurs SpaceX du milliardaire américain Elon Musk.

La société japonaise Ispace aurait trouvé un accord avec la société SpaceX pour opérer deux lancements en direction de la Lune à partir de 2020. Selon le Wort, Kyle Acierno, le directeur d’Ispace Luxembourg, l’annoncera ce mercredi matin.

Le premier lancement devrait permettre d’emmener l’engin spatial Hakuto-R en orbite autour de la Lune au premier trimestre 2020. Le second interviendra dans les mois suivants, avant la mi-2020, et devrait permettre un alunissage pour l’engin lunaire modulaire développé par Ispace.

La société japonaise a développé un centre de recherche au Luxembourg dans le cadre du programme Spaceresources.lu.

Son objectif est de trouver de l’eau présente massivement sur la Lune pour en faire du carburant, en agissant sur les propriétés des molécules de l’or bleu.

Das japanische Pharmaunternehmen JCR Pharmaceuticals will sich in Käerjeng ansiedeln – und 50 Jobs für Hochqualifizierte schaffen. Das erklärt die Regierung in einer Antwort auf eine parlamentarische Anfrage. JCR Pharmaceuticals forscht unter anderem an Medikamenten für Betroffene des Hunter-Syndroms, einer Genkrankheit, die tödlich enden kann. Eine Erfindung der Japaner bietet neue Therapiemöglichkeiten für die Patienten.

Mit eben dieser Innovation könnten auch andere seltene Krankheiten behandelt werden. Die luxemburgische Regierung freut sich darüber, dass die Medikamente in Luxemburg hergestellt werden könnten. “In Zukunft könnten die Lebensqualität und Lebenserwartung von Patienten durch biomedizinische Substanzen ‘made in Luxembourg’ verbessert werden”, schreibt die Regierung.

En obtenant une licence d’établissement de paiement de la CSSF, la start-up japonaise dont l’antenne européenne est au Luxembourg devient la première plateforme d’échange de bitcoin au monde à être régulée à la fois au Japon, aux États-Unis et en Europe.

C’est une nouvelle qui restera certainement gravée dans la jeune histoire du bitcoin, et plus généralement celle des monnaies virtuelles. La start-up japonaise bitFlyer, qui développe la plus grande plateforme d’échange de bitcoin au monde en matière de transactions, vient d’être officiellement agréée en tant qu’établissement de paiement par le Ministère des Finances suivant l’accord de la Commission de surveillance du secteur financier (CSSF).

Ce sésame lui permet de se lancer à l’assaut du marché européen avec un argument de taille pour rassurer ceux qui sont encore réticents à investir dans cette monnaie virtuelle. Car bitFlyer est désormais régulée non seulement en Europe, mais aussi aux États-Unis, où elle opère depuis novembre, et au Japon, faisant d’elle la plateforme d’échange de bitcoin la plus conforme au monde.

Das japanische Pharmaunternehmen JCR Pharmaceuticals, das sich auf die Erforschung, Entwicklung und den Verkauf von Pharma-Produkten spezialisiert hat, wird in Luxemburg eine neue Produktionsfiliale eröffnen. Mit diesem Schritt möchte es weltweit expandieren. Bisher wurde nur in Japan produziert. Dort beschäftigt JCR derzeit mehr als 500 Angestellte und erzielt einen jährlichen Umsatz von knapp 136 Millionen Euro.

Viele Details über die neue Firma sind bisher noch nicht bekannt. Laut Wirtschaftsministerium wurde mit dem Unternehmen ausgehandelt, dass es in die “Zone industrielle Bommelscheuer” in der Gemeinde Käerjeng ziehen wird. Wie groß das Firmengelände aber wird, wie viele Arbeitsplätze von JCR geschaffen werden und welche Produkte genau in Luxemburg produziert werden sollen, ist noch “geheim”. “Das Unternehmen will sich dazu noch bedeckt halten”, heißt es von der Pressesprecherin des Wirtschaftsministeriums, Stéphanie Wagemans, auf Nachfrage des Tageblatt.

L’assureur nippon a débuté sa demande d’agrément.

L’assureur nippon Tokio Marine Group a annoncé mercredi son installation au Luxembourg dans la foulée du Brexit. Tokio Marine Group a entamé la procédure régulatoire avec le Commissariat aux Assurances, et compte être opérationnel au Luxembourg d’ici le premier semestre 2018, renseigne un communiqué de presse.

«Le pays est axé sur le soutien à l’industrie des services financiers et son régulateur a une approche expérimentée, solide et pragmatique», a commenté le CEO de Tokio Marine HCC International Holding, Barry Cook, au sujet du Luxembourg.

Tokio Marine est le 7ème assureur à annoncer sa venue au Luxembourg dans la foulée du Brexit après AIG, FM Global, CNA Hardy, Hiscox, RSA et Liberty Mutual.

Après la mission économique menée la semaine dernière sur la cote ouest des États-Unis, Étienne Schneider poursuit les rencontres et les voyages sur la thématique spatiale. Le ministre de l’Économie s’est en effet rendu jeudi au Japon pour notamment visiter le siège d’Ispace.

La société a récemment rejoint l’initiative Spaceresources.lu et établi son quartier général européen au Luxembourg. Elle ambitionne de trouver l’eau présente massivement sur la Lune pour en faire du carburant, en agissant sur les propriétés des molécules de l’or bleu.

Die Regierung unterzeichnete nach Angaben vom Donnerstag eine entsprechende Absichtserklärung. Demnach wird sich das Hightech-Unternehmen aus Tokio mit einer in Luxemburg angesiedelten Gesellschaft an der Weltrauminitiative "Space Resources" beteiligen.

Das japanische Unternehmen ispace soll sich an der Erforschung und Entwicklung von Technologie beteiligen, die zur Entwicklung von Geräten und deren Transport zum Mond nötig sind. Die luxemburgische Regierung will mit eigenem Geld und mit Mitteln der Europäischen Weltraumagentur (ESA) den Transport eines speziellen Massenspektrometers auf den Mond fördern. Nach früheren Angaben von Premierminister Xavier Bettel soll bis Ende 2019 eine erste Erkundungsmission starten. Mit im Boot sind unter anderem bereits die beiden größten US-Unternehmen für Weltraum-Bergbau.

Luxembourg, 27 March 2018 – Cargo Community System Japan Co. (CCSJ) has today signed an agreement with CHAMP Cargosystems to provide a new cloud-based air cargo messaging system that includes IT infrastructure, an operational messaging platform and customer invoicing. 

CHAMP’s CEO, Arnaud Lambert and CCSJ’s President, Kazuo Hirabayashi marked this momentous occasion at an official ceremony at CHAMP’s headquarters in Contern, Luxembourg attended by distinguished guests from both the Luxembourgish and Japanese states.

CCSJ is the sole Cargo Community System in Japan connecting all participants (airlines, freight forwarders and handling agents) in the national airfreight market.  CHAMP is operating the largest global cargo community system on a state-of-the-art messaging and integration platform and was able to demonstrate to CCSJ how its solution can be customized to meet the current and emerging needs of the Japanese air cargo community.

Pierre Gramegna Discusses Brexit, eCommerce Taxation, Green Finance with Japanese

As part of his mission to Japan from Wednesday to Friday last week, Pierre Gramegna, Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, met his counterpart Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Japan.

The two ministers welcomed their excellent bilateral relations and discussed the economic and financial situation in Europe, as well as the latest developments in the Brexit negotiations. They also discussed the subject of e-commerce taxation and identified new avenues for collaboration between Japan and Luxembourg, particularly in the area of ​​green finance.

Luxembourg, November 29, 2017 - The Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, represented by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, and the Cabinet Office of Japan, represented by Masaji Matsuyama, Minister of State for Space Policy, signed today in Tokyo a memorandum of cooperation on exploration and commercial utilization of space resources.

Within its SpaceResources.lu initiative, Luxembourg offers commercial companies an attractive overall environment for space resource exploration and utilization related activities, including but not limited to a legal regime. The Grand Duchy is the first European country to offer a legal and regulatory framework addressing the capability of ownership of space resources and laying down the regulations for the authorization and the supervision of such missions in space.

The five-year cooperation agreement between Luxembourg and Japan covers the exchange of information and expertise on the exploration and commercial utilization of space resources and intends to further enhance cooperation in the field of space activities. The exchange of information may cover all the issues of the exploration and commercial utilization of space resources, including legal, regulatory, technological, economic, and other aspects.

La majeure partie de la journée a été consacrée à la visite du Tsukuba Space Center de l’Agence d’exploration aérospatiale japonaise (Jaxa) par le chef de l’État, les deux ministres et la large délégation économique luxembourgeoise qui les a suivis.

Le professeur Kuninaka Hitoshi y a fourni de nombreux détails sur la sonde spatiale Hayabusa et la capsule de retour Hayabusa 2, qui comporte à son bord des échantillons d’astéroïdes. Le professeur Wakata Koichi, quant à lui, a fourni des explications sur le module japonais expérimental Kibo de la Station spatiale internationale.

During his working visit to Japan between 19 and 21 April, Deputy Prime Minister Étienne Schneider met with the Japanese minister of education, culture, sports, science and technology, Toshiei Mizuochi and Japan’s space minister, Yosuke Tsuruho, to discuss potential cooperation between Japan and Luxembourg as part of the SpaceResources.lu initiative.

During the meetings, Etienne Schneider called for a multilateral agreement on the exploration and use of space resources. 

"Technological progress will give access to sources of energy and raw materials outside the earth's atmosphere, in particular the resources available on millions of asteroids that gravitate around the solar system. In order to avoid in the future any colonisation of space by one or the other world power, the "Outer Space Treaty", the UN space treaty signed in 1967, will have to be adapted to realities by explicitly regulating the exploration and peaceful exploitation of space resources, as well as responsibility for space debris,” said Minister Schneider.
