Do you know the actual theories of learning? A learning theory is an attempt to describe how people learn, helping us understand this inherently complex process.

Study Reveals that Twitter users often Retweet without reading or clicking links

Study Reveals that Twitter users often Retweet without reading or clicking links | Web 2.0 for juandoming | Scoop.it
If you’ve been on Twitter long enough and use the social platform to share content from your blog or website, and have built a certain level of authority and expertise, after a while you’ll begin to notice automated sharing and retweets of your stuff, often from the same sources. This can be great for traffic and awareness, but it’s a pretty hollow stamp of approval, as your content has obviously been passed on blind.

Steve Tuffill's comment, November 12, 2012 5:51 PM
And if the poster uses the command, "Retweet" rather than "RT", the retweet rate increases twelve-fold...! Remember, less than 100 chars means +17% engagement, too. More than 2 +hashtags reduces this again by 17%!

Gaming Is A Positive Element in Life [Infographic] | Web 2.0 for juandoming | Scoop.it

"Playing video games for an extended period of time, or, well playing them at all, will rot your brain. At least, that’s what we’ve been led to believe. Actually, those fighting against gaming see something a lot worse than simple brain rot. To that particular establishment, video games are responsible for just about every social ill you can think of, especially violence."

Fantastic infographic on why gaming is a positive element in life. With the massive increase in casual gamers gaming is becoming a positive aspect of even more peoples lives , and why wouldn't a brand want to capitalise on this increase in gamers by having their own branded mobile game developed . This would could have millions of users postiviely interacting with a brand - a no brainer really! - HK

Marcus van Egmond's curator insight, March 30, 2014 8:14 AM

Gaming can also extend itself outside of the screen, and can be an extremely useful tool for things far removed from the idea of hardcore gaming, such as family bonding.

PRIVACY AND ICT The whys and wherefores of privacy

Privacy is a sensitive subject to which people attach great importance. The only problem is that they do not know exactly why. Still, if it is so important then it is also necessary to establish why that is the case. It is therefore the task of ethicists to clarify the relevant theoretical arguments and practical implications.

Any topics that touch on privacy, such as the electronic files on patients (efp) and cameras in public spaces therefore soon become topics of heated social and political debate. People appreciate the advantages of new information technology but are at the same time alarmed to realize that so much is known about them. It is often emotions that play a decisive role because the relevant arguments are difficult to formulate not to mention weigh up.

Competencias Digitales

Pamela D Lloyd's curator insight, February 3, 2013 4:04 PM

From very early in my life, possibly in my elementary school years, but certainly by the time I was in high school, I've felt that the age-based grouping of children for education was ineffective, holding some students back, while forcing others ahead before they were ready. Even without digital learning techniques, I believe that students, all students, benefit from a system that takes each individual's learning styles and needs into account, recognizing mastery (or competency, as it's referred to in this infographic) as the basis for placement in each subject. The advent of digital learning systems provides the means for making such a process easier and more cost-effective than ever before, and I hope that our schools, regardless of whether they are brick & mortar or via the Internet, will continue to explore ways to help every child learn in the way that works best for them.

Antonia Rudenstine's curator insight, July 27, 2015 4:57 PM

I don't think about competency in exactly this way...but this conversation is a fabulous one to be in.

30 Infographic Resumes for Inspiration

30 Infographic Resumes for Inspiration | Web 2.0 for juandoming | Scoop.it

A few years back, presenting an infographic résumé was something completely unthinkable, even if you were applying to a job where creativity and graphic skills were important. It simply didn’t happen. Then, with the rise of the online portfolios and social networks, it became more common to present professional background and skills with a more visual appeal.

Today, infographics seem to be everywhere and web services will transform your social media activity and LinkedIn profile into visual displays, making it possible for those without the necessary graphic abilities to have their own illustrated curriculum.

Though popular, the resume as infographic trend is fairly new to employers, so the best option for most professionals is to look at them as a supplement to the traditional format. If you decide to create your own, look around for examples- they range from the complex to those with a more minimalistic approach. Both types can be effective, if the objective is to stand out from the crowd...

The Higher Education Bubble [infographic]

The Higher Education Bubble [infographic] | Web 2.0 for juandoming | Scoop.it

Student loans are one of the biggest problems facing our country at the moment. Thousands of students attend university and even if they drop out, students still end up with mountains of debt. This debt can follow them throughout their life.

Today’s infographic says 85% of today’s college graduates will move back in with their parents after school. I know my parents would love seeing my face more around the house, although they would probably prefer I get a job after college. If only higher education didn’t cost as much.

Key takeaways:

- Student loans surpassed credit card debts.

- Students now graduate with an average debt of $24,000.00.
