Es un proyecto con un importante impacto social que aprovecha múltiples expresiones y representaciones en textos plurales como el comic, arte callejero, contenido de aplicaciones y demás; un uso más allá de lo comercial como tendencia del transmedia.

Eager to learn more about 'For the Records' and it's dynamics--interactivity, audience participation, multiple threads--and where the gaming elements intersect with the other elements. All the things that create a rich sense of narrative transportation and multi-sensory experience may go a long way to shift perceptions through empathy.

Whether or not State of Syn succeeds commercially or critically, they should get kudos for pushing boundaries of multi-sensory #transmedia #storytelling and helping people think differently about integrating technology such as Google Glass. Efforts like this emphasize #AR apps and wearable technology as a rich form of experience instead of creepy privacy violation. In this case, the game mechanics do not tie directly to the series. The Google Glass is more of a "parallel play" experience linking narrative with gaming. One app (for $) creates a “synesthesia” layer – the same trait held by the show’s lead protagonist Annika Drake. (I've always wanted to know what it was like to taste music and see feelings.) This should light a fire under other innovators to get creative! Can't wait to see what happens.

#Psych note: storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to change beliefs and behavior that are the foundation for social roles. Transmedia and other immersive narratives can expand gender roles in ways that traditional media can't. From Cate McQuillen: "There’s such a need for a girl who’s not a princess." I would rephrase w/what transmedia delivers: "there's such a need to experience being a girl (or being around a girl) who is not a princess." |

“It’s like having a story with three chapters,” Tromovitch said. “Each on a different medium. Film. Play. Radio play. Soundscapes with visual images, music and words. An improv troupe on Twitter.”

Can't help wishing I had found this when I was teaching Pride and Prejudice to my 9th graders. They would definitely have enjoyed it and it would've added a new spark to classroom discussions. |
Danielle Zimmerman: "This special may be terrible, but you should still watch it. (After all, it’s all technically canon!) Sure, the long holiday season may be finally coming to a close, but there’s no such thing as the best time to watch this holiday special. So, why not watch it now?"
