Years ago I published a slideshow that demonstrated how to create a quiz in Google Forms. Even though that slideshow is now outdated, I still get requests for copies of it. To replace that slideshow I made the following video that demonstrates how to create a quiz in the current version of Google Forms.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, here is a collection of some good web tools to help you create digital quizzes. You can use them to design interactive quizzes, questionnaire, forms, polls and many more. The tools are easy and simple to use and no software installation is required. Triventy is a free quiz game platform that earlier today I introduced to a great group of teachers in New Hampshire. The concept behind Triventy will feel familiar to anyone who has used Kahoot or Quizizz. Triventy differentiates itself from Kahoot and Quizziz by allowing you to accept question suggestions from students. In the video embedded below I demonstrate how to create a quiz on Triventy and accept question suggestions from students.

That seems like a simple black-and-white question but the details show how difficult it can be to ensure of that. Mastery can be unclear if the question proves to be confusing or if the answers aren’t effectively chosen. For the latter, there are many ways the answer set can lead the student, either helping them with process of elimination rather than deep understanding or providing too much information, thus making the answer obvious.

Quizzy is a free tool that allows you to quickly create and publish self-paced review quizzes for your students. After I reviewed it last week I received a few emails from folks who had some questions about how it works. I created the following video to answer those questions and more. The nice thing about Quizzy is that your students don't need to create usernames and passwords to take your practice quizzes. The downside to that is you don't have a good way to see which students have used your review quizzes and which students haven't used your review quiz.

Last winter I made a series of charts in which I compared popular ed tech tools. I'm now going through those charts and removing some tools and adding some new ones. Teacher scans the codes put up by students to receive a bar graph on his /her screen showing their answers. It is an affordable tool used in formative assessment. Students' answers differ by the way they hold up their bar codes.

Riddle has recently rolled out some new features that should be especially useful for the upcoming school year.
