BOY CULTURE: An Encyclopedia: E-Book and excerpts – LINK HERE

You know your little hobby has made the ‘big time’ when the academics and scholars start to inform, dissect, categorize, reflect on, title and “study” what’s happening with the participant-humans.  Specifically, when it “involves the children.”

Take, for example…BOY CULTURE: An Encyclopedia, which places “GUNS” and a few paragraphs in CHAPTER 6: “BAD” Boys.

Certainly a scholarly tome, posted in e-book format for accessibility and ease-of-editing as new information becomes available, this one is edited by…well…as diverse a group of individuals as you might imagine.  But the WHO is not as important as the WHY...."

This is going to be THE series of Vlog videos you will want to follow from start to finish!  Our buddy MERLIN was, for lack of a better phrase, an “embed journalist” in the Vegas SHOT Show antics of our friends, the cray-cray HOLY COWZ Chele, Troy and Mario from Florida’s STAMPEDE AIRSOFT.  And (we hope) what comes out of this is perhaps the most-unvarnished, straight-forward look inside the SHOT “experience” that anyone has captured.  Seriously, MERLIN goes behind the closed-doors at vendor events, inside the showrooms at the booths where deals are cut-and-signed, and also hits the off-site action up and down The Strip!

SHOT Show 2016 gets underway today in Vegas….actually out in the desert at Industry Day at the Range just east of the city, where airsoft/real-steel’s own MUEL will be a range safety officer! Huge back-pat for that one!

Thumpy is NOT in Vegas this year, however…we will be pushing out all the headlines and coverage from the airsoft and gun media you guys love, plus taking y’all down memory lane for some huge moments from the SHOT Shows ‘past.

And, there’s no better place to start than pretty much at the beginning of Airsoft at SHOT with our own buddy Tim “No Airsoft for Old Men” Ellwood’s story from his blog…way WAY back in 1987, Mr. Peabody!:

Hmmm..I’ll bet any state-wide group of players in some of the non-traditional ‘softer states might have this conversation every couple of years.  Is the game in the USA changing so much that you have to live near the big fields and stores to have any fun? Or…is this so much a part of the “nature” of any hobby or sport?

OK, official policy as of today...there is no more "BB war" here at the 3D House of Airsoft. BB's are small plastic-based spheroids being pooped by a tiny amount of compressed air out of a smoothbore barrel of dubious quality. Whether they have an air bubble in them or not, as long as they don't break in my gun and damage any gun parts, I DON'T GIVE A RATS' ASS ANY MORE!

If some BB Companies want to throw thousands of dollars at me to help me do my news job better, I'll be happy to accept. I plan on telling everyone you are a news supporter but not a sponsored company.

Talk about coincidence?  For more than 30 years THUMPY’s been a storyteller who uses whatever I had at-hand to share what’s happening.  In my TV days I had access to pro-level video gear that cost tens-of-thousands of dollars, but being a “one-man-band” who shot, wrote, edited and produced all my own news stories, I always pushed for smaller, lighter gear that didn’t get in the way of telling those stories.

Just this morning I found Mike Castellucci, a reporter in Texas who has done many stories and 2 AWARD WINNING 30-minute shows now with “just his iPhone.” Smaller is better, and it is always with you. But not everyone can tell a story.

Christopher Wratten is more than just an airsoft field/store owner-operator.  He is a STORYTELLER in the best sense of the word.  If more people in our little game learned some of his lessons just watching the videos he posts every week, we’d be a whole lot better than the little brats who get a fancy-cam from mommy and daddy and overshoot their former-friends in the back….  LET THAT SINK IN  while you watch and SHARE the heck out of this one from BALLAHACK AIRSOFT…and CLICK THAT PIC to get at their YT Channel, too!
