We started to shine-the-light on a very positive development in airsoft and socials/media, and then THIS hit in our in-feed/Scoopit’s!  Two of our favorite guys in the YT video game…one, the seasoned pro and top chan for years, and the other, a hometown ‘kid who works WORKS WORKS Hard all the time!  Sounds like a tag-team-cage-match duo we’d pay to watch!  Great work guys!  WE SHARE BECAUSE WE CARE #airsmart #goodguys

The headline is pretty damning….” WINSTON-SALEM — Winston-Salem police have seized 280 BB guns and airsoft rifles in the past three years, and those types of weapons have been used in 600 crimes in Winston-Salem during that period, police officials said Wednesday….”

Read this one, and know that it is usually NOT law-abiding, police-supporting individuals who are breaking laws and taking their lives into their own hands with airsoft guns.  Why we ALL need to be making connections and spreading the good word with our own local LEO’s…

This one has us more hooked-up with the good vibes than we normally are for a Cops-Train-With-Local-‘Softers event….because this time it is Police AND their Explorers/Cadets training with some of the best…the AIRSOFT OBSESSED gang in  California!  Yea, THAT California!  ‘See, when you work together and do the right things to help your local LEO’s, the gaps are bridged and it not only builds good teamwork for the departments, the officers and FUTURE officers, but for your whole community.  Take that, Lawmakers in the BIG SAC!

We “play war.”  It is really that simple when it comes down to it.

Some among us have fought real battles.  Some warriors continue those fights long after they and their friends return to civilian life.

Then there are guys like Tommy Lukowski.  We never met in person.  But, with so many in airsoft, there was a bond of caring and sharing and giving for this other kind of warrior that people around the world and far from his home in New Jersey felt they did know him.  Knew of his struggle, his battles with cancer and pain.  Knew of the generosity of airsofters who helped him financially, emotionally, and he helped them in due measure.  All debts paid-in-full by just sharing the strength and honor of this man who was a firefighter, a husband-to-be, one tough guy who others gained so much from just through the knowing.

As our veteran friends here often say, “Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Until we meet again. And we, too, wish cancer would get cancer in its stupid cancer face and just die, buddy.

Airsoft is back in an American legislative body, but this AIR SMART measure might just set some ground-rules for positive use of airguns on local school campuses across the USA.

Kansas House Bill 2468 is proposed by Representative Blake Carpenter (R-District 81), and passed a 91-27 floor vote in March, and will be brought back into session in the Senate next week. (April 27th, 2016)

The bill as amended, would "make changes to the Weapons Free School Act by prohibiting school districts from adopting policies preventing organizations from conducting activities on school property solely because the activities involve the possession and use of air guns."

"Under the bill, school districts could prohibit the possession of air guns at a school, on school property, or at a school-supervised activity except when a pupil is participating in activities conducted by an organization or is in transit to or from such activities. School districts could not implement policies that prohibit the possession of an air gun by a pupil on school property if the pupil is a participant in the activities of an organization."

A local school shut down a shooting sports program in spite of a 30-plus year safety record far exceeding other big high school sports such as football, soccer, basketball and volleyball.  That's when Carpenter stepped up with the proposal and safeguards to allow use of BB, pellet and airsoft guns on campus under close supervision of organizations for athletic or safety training purposes.

THUMPY's NEWS contacted Representative Carpenter Thursday for an update.

"I managed to get HB2468 into SB65. Hopefully, when we get back the Senate and House will do a conference committee on SB65. They should keep HB2468 inside SB65 and once they pass it out of the committee it will go before both chambers for a yes or no vote. I believe that it has a good opportunity to pass both chambers."

There’s an interesting thing happening in parts of the airsoft community that we haven’t commented or reported on yet. About time to ‘hit it’ now.

Guys like NOVRITSCH,  JET DESERTFOX and BODGEUPS are turning their million-candlepower/views and subs’ spotlights on OTHER YT Guys who are trying to break into the media community or just put out top-shelf content.  And, although this is ‘only a paintballer.’ take a minute or two to LISTEN to what Hidden Hedgehog says about his philosophy-of-play, and you might see why we all have much to learn from each other. And why we MUST support ALL SHOOTING SPORTS, guys and gals! Its not about the gun/marker…

BTW, it is pretty much what we do here at Thumpy’s and have since the beginning.  Take the creme that rises to the top and put it out there in a different way for folks like you to watch, listen and COMMENT on!
