The Bottomline: To an entreprenuer, every idea is great. It's the growth that's gonna cost

The Bottomline: To an entreprenuer, every idea is great. It's the growth that's gonna cost | TheBottomlineNow | Scoop.it

To an entreprenuer, ideas come to us on a daily basisi.  We're sort of trained to see what others miss when it comes to oppotunities.  We alway sort of have our antennas up for that next big thing.  To most, who are working and paying bills, it might not be their interest to see new oppotunities.   They may already have to much on their plate.  The entreprenuer although can see sunshine in a shitpile (we're really that goofy).

So therefore we have a whole lot of ideas.  but it's the growth of that idea that cost.  Matthew Knowles had a idea, "My daughter can sing and I'm gonna make her a star."  The idea cost nothing, the growth cost a lot.  Now that Beyonce is that big star and Matthew's idea (not Beyonce's or Jay Z's or Beyonces's mother.  Matthew's idea). has come to fruit, Matthew paid the cost for that growth.  The family also paid but Matthew guided his idea boat into harbor for the win (not Beyonce, Not Jay Z or Matthew's Ex wife).  Matthew and the family paid the cost for growth and the fans applauded with support,  That's how it works.

You gotta expect to pay the cost for growth, if you want to win.  It's gonna cost.  Sacrifice, commitment, tenacity, all of these items will be on the table and for you to succeed you'll have to pay.

Remember, the idea cost nothing.  It's the growth that's gonna cost.

The Epic Downfall Of The Casino That Was Supposed To Save Atlantic City

The Epic Downfall Of The Casino That Was Supposed To Save Atlantic City | TheBottomlineNow | Scoop.it
Revel prepares for bankruptcy.
Reginald Shipman's insight:

This situation at the Revel is a classic example of everyone trying to have it's cake and eat it too.  An overly ambitious project with Morgan Stanley"s blessing the funding (@2.2 Billion Dollars that turned into a 1.2 billion dollar write down, wow.   A billion lost out the gate on the lending.  Poof into thin air. )  This happens when overpriced contractors and professionals are able to slick seasoned (and I say this loosely) professionals out of  close to a billion dollars. Does this look like a scam?(yes)  But probably it's not.  This was just bad underwriting from the jump (unless you were one of those overpriced professionals or contractors.  Then it was good eating.)  It doesn't matter how slick something looks if you can't get the money back (market demand will never bend to you.  You have to bend to market demand.).  Now the investors, taxpayers and the employees of this massive white elephant will be left holding the bag.   You can't take all the money up front and really expect any project to succeed.  Unless your strategy was to take all the money up front (in skims from the contractors.).  Why take it in skims?   Skims can't be taxed.

TheBottomlineNow: There's a real difference between a religion and your business......

TheBottomlineNow: There's a real difference between a religion and your business...... | TheBottomlineNow | Scoop.it

Many time guys get a good idea that they can't wait to share to the world.  They think that if I bring this ideas to the marketplace, all will be good in the village (right).  So They begin their quest into entreprenuership ( or wantreprenuership).

Many entreprenuers mistake a innovative moment for a great business..  I'll get funding and the world will see.   At that moment, that's when a entreprenuer's idea sometimes becomes a religion.  Instead of being a product solution process that customer identify as useful.  The entreprenuer begins his campaign  to get the masses on his team.  Here's flash, if it's truly innovative and useful, the market will find it on and utilize it.  Don't get me wrong, you still have to create attention and interest but if there is positive feedback to potential customers that you have the solution, you don't have to blind them by faith.

When an entreprenuer wants you to believe in him more than the product, this lead to poor underwriting.  I want you product to be a solid solution and I want to believe in you (without the sermon).

The best sales pitch in the world is another satisfied customer letting the masses know "You are the one".  Let the market preach your praises not a powerpoint presentation.

Remember, the customer is always right.  Why? Because it's their money.
