"The targeting features in Optimize reflect the machine learning capability deployed in Google Optimize A/B testing. Adobe applied a machine learning upgrade with its Test and Target solution.   Using machine learning in conducting A/B test increases test accuracy.   Tests can automatically be run with appropriate sample size balanced against conditions that are a reasonable influence on choice.


Moreover, that balance allows the introduction of Bayesian probability for testing.  Bayesian probability is based on adjusting the likelihood for a hypothesis to be valid when more evidence or information becomes available during a test.


That perspective is essential, with more marketing campaigns relying on automation where conditions are not solely defined by web technicalities or code.  Direct email campaigns are a great example. Because more emails are opened in mobile devices, marketers must consider what real world actions — like arriving at a store — are in play, on top of code-related page influences like a button size, image or text."

But what can you expect? How do you configure it properly? How do you run your first experiment?

If you’re reading this, you’re probably already using a testing tool like Optimizely or VWO. So, why give Google Optimize a try?

It’s a familiar UI.
  • Your Google Optimize data will be available in Google Analytics and your Google Analytics data will be available in Google Optimize, allowing for: more advanced targeting, more advanced reporting, more advanced conversion tracking, etc.

There may be no such thing as a free lunch - but now there's a free CRO package that gives you the ability to run as many A/B tests across your site as you need. Almost half of smaller businesses don't currently utilize A/B testing, which will mean they're potentially losing vast sums compared to the revenue they could have been generating had they engaged in CRO. That's why this free tool is so powerful. It opens up the possibility of A/B testing to all players, regardless of size. Whilst currently there is a divide between larger businesses able to afford to use a paid A/B testing tool like convert.com (which is a great tool) and smaller business unable to use these tools because of their cost, this free tool from Google will allow all businesses to optimize their conversion rate.

The tool in question is Google Optimize, which was previously part of Google's enterprise testing and personalized package called Google Optimize 360. Google Optimize provides users with many of the features of Google Optimize 360, but without the enterprise level price tag.
