Peter Gutierrez: "As a reference work on media/transmedia, both aesthetically and historically, as a how-to for student media-makers, or simply on the professional development shelf, so that teachers and librarians can mine it for ideas, [Tyler Weaver’s book is] a text that can fill many needs at once. I was delighted, then, when the author agreed to talk to me about this fascinating topic" … Via The Digital Rocking Chair, Joyce Valenza

GwynethJones's insight:
YAY Bobbi! Again, I gotta say – Amen, sistah! Strong voices of all sexes, lib professions (academic, public, or school library) if you have a passion and a voice put in the time & share it. I also would suggest applying to present at local Library or ISTE affiliate conferences. I did that for 10 years before I dared to go to the “Big Show” of a national venue or before I was asked to keynote or speak!

Like many librarians I often turn to Creative Commons licensed photos on Flickr for use in my presentations and blog posts. Flickr makes it incredibly easy to search for photos with a Creative Commons license.
by the amazing @librarianbyday EEP!
As always, dear Bobbi, you bring stuff out that I’ve never thought of!
Imagine revoking a CC lic – ohmyword! [clutches pearls] perish the thought!
But srsly, if you’re weaning yourself off Flickr CC what are you using as an alternative for those of us who strive to make our presos on Slideshare (!) graphically delicious!?
I mean, I’ve splurged for iStock photos before but Flickr CC is my bread and butter source! Oh and I do pay for the educators PRO version of Slideshare & am very happy with it. Customized profile page & bigger uploads! Yum!
