A perfect example of how digital technology can play a role in practical PE lessons. There is no better way to receive immediate feedback than have the skill recorded and instantly watch how it was performed. An example of using this app in a PE lesson may include students being in pairs with one mobile phone per pair and they take turns at filming each other. This develops the personal and social capability.
Jazmine Salter's curator insight, May 8, 2020 9:44 PM
The article above discusses the function of the Coach’s Eye app and how it can be utilised in sport. Coach’s Eye can be downloaded to a smart phone or tablet and be used to record individuals playing sport or completing a skill to pinpoint where the individual could improve. Videos can be recorded to watched repeatedly and slowed down to review the exact actions occurring. The article also addresses how the app can be used to provide immediate feedback to a player without the presence of the coach. This app is a great idea of how technology can be used in the health and physical education classroom to enhance the learning experience. Students can record themselves during a lesson and gain instant feedback on the particular skill they performed. Likewise, the video replay can cater to a range of learners as it provides visual feedback. An example of how this app can be used in the physical education classroom is to pair students up and record each other performing a skill. Students can then provide feedback not only to themselves, but to each other about how they can improve the skill. This task assists in developing students collaborative and social capability, their ICT capability as well as creative and critical thinking.

The U.S has dealt with with many financial hardships over the past 50 years. Things such as recessions, pandemics, and terrorist attacks have affected the economy. Sports is way to take your mind off of what is going on in the world. Look at this past summer with the quarantine. The U.S was on lock down for a couple weeks and things felt like they would never go back to normal. The NBA was the first sports to come back after the lock down. There were no fans allowed at the games, this means there was not to much financial gain. The league has so much money that one bad season will not hurt them. As we continue to deal with pandemic, sports are trying to find a way to come back and provide financial help to the economy.

Why Justin Timberlake Won't Get Paid For His Super Bowl Halftime Gig (Again)

Why Justin Timberlake Won't Get Paid For His Super Bowl Halftime Gig (Again) | Technology in Business Today | Scoop.it
The NFL does not pay its halftime acts a performance fee as a matter of policy. That's right: the likes of Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Coldplay and Lady Gaga all played for free in recent years, and Timberlake's Pepsi Halftime Show gig at Super Bowl LII will be no different.
Sam Wishnow's curator insight, February 3, 2018 6:09 PM
I never knew that the NFL doesn't pay the super bowl halftime acts. It makes sense though, considering that the halftime show  always has a big sponsor paying for it. I didn't pay much attention to the halftime show, but I thought it was cool that he gave Prince a little tribute.

Richard Platt's curator insight, December 17, 2014 11:37 PM

This is an area where designers and inventors have to understand the exact needs of the person using their product.

  • How can a partially sighted skier be more independent?
  • How can you make it easier for a wheelchair rugby player to right themselves after a fall?
  • These are the kinds of questions that students at Imperial College London have been trying to answer as part of the Rio Tinto Sports Innovation Challenge.
  • These prototypes could play an important role in the future of technology for disabled sportsmen and women.
  • Currently, blind or partially sighted skiers rely on guides who ski in front of them. They are linked through Bluetooth headsets.
