Do yourself a favor and ask a real network professional for help. All this author is doing is talking about off the shelf crap that is then advertised for sale at the bottom of this shallow, weak in content post! If you want a real network that is robust don't settle for anything less than a router that has or can support the DD-WRT  firmware!

 

Not only that but using DD-WRT you stand a better chance at really and truly protecting yourself, something this off the shelf trash does not allow you to do.
