Digital Music with Moon-Audio: Lossless - Curagami

Digital Music with Moon-Audio: Lossless - Curagami | Startup Revolution | Scoop.it

Digital Music Gurus
Wow figuring out how to help our music sound great in all the new ways we listen to it makes our head hurt. Luckily we have an engineer friend who helps (surprising how often that happens).  Drew Baird, Moon-Audio.com's founder, is a creative electrical engineering genius.

How do I know that? I'm listening to music powered by his Dragon Audiio Cables right now (and it sounds so sweet). Skeptical about the difference cables can make?

I was too until I listened to my Shure SE846 earphones for a year without Drew's cables. You would need to pry my Silver Dragons from my cold dead hand now (sound is that good).

In this post Drew shares how to move music from iTunes to a DAP. Itunes compression isn't the best so music detail can be lost. Crazy to have great equipment and poor recordings. Drew explains how your music can escape iTunes and sound great.

Zillow-ification Of Content: How Startup Disruptors Roll Up Online Content

Zillow-ification Of Content: How Startup Disruptors Roll Up Online Content | Startup Revolution | Scoop.it

Added Zillow-ification of Content to Asking Key Ecommerce Questions Haiku Deck: http://shar.es/1gcmvT

The slide shares a common problem. Regional industries from banking to real estate have feedback loops that reinforce their regional-ness. They are big fish in small ponds.

Along comes startup entrepreneurs who understand the "socket layers" of information architecture in a platform world. They create a platform, roll up the regional content, tag, filter and package information that WAS free but held in a thousand places and SELL the package back to the proprietary and once powerful big fish in their small pond.

Google's only "boundary" is the web their only VOTE inbound links and the social and search clout earned. Google thinks and acts differently. Google fishes the world's oceans and will think about fishing on Mars should such a possibility present itself.

Information is free doesn't mean what you think. Information is free means information is boundless and so able to be formed and reformed in an infinite variety of ways. The power distribution of everything is something Google and their roll up students know and regional once powerful big fish learn the hard way.

How do I know so much about this? Some of my best friends are roll-up artists capable of hiding the pea or the red queen in ways so clever and adroit those paying for their information don't even seem to realize or know how badly they've just been zillow-ized :).

Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton Film About Stones Throw Records Teaches Startups Lessons

Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton Film About Stones Throw Records Teaches Startups Lessons | Startup Revolution | Scoop.it

Startup Lessons From A Wolf & A Record Company
Peanut Butter Wolf knows what and supports what he loves - aspiring music and musicians. His startup, Stones Throw Records (https://www.stonesthrow.com ), is the subject of an amazing documentary with many #startups lessons including:

* Be in "it" (business and life) for the right reasons (i.e. LOVE not money).
* Walk your talk.
* Have courage.
* Do the right thing.

The record biz is in turmoil. How anyone can make enough money to survive is the issue and the issue isn't resolved. The web is an amazing thing, but it is a wrecking ball too.

The music biz is one of those buildings he wrecking ball hit hard and we aren't sure what is going to be left. Peanut Butter Wolf and Stones Throw Records don't care about any of that. They care about finding, helping and sharing music they love. And they are going to do that come hell or high water.

Great lessons, great film.
