With leaks of the album starting to emerge, the hype around The Dark Knight Rises original soundtrack is gaining much more momentum as the movie inches closer the its July 20 release date.
Set for a digital and physical July 17 release via Warner Bros. Studios’ Water Tower Music, the score and soundtrack are once again composed by Hans Zimmer, who has given an emotional and cavernous sonic backdrop to all of director Christopher Nolan’s Gotham City forays. This album also marks the fourth time Zimmer has aided Nolan’s vision through music, including the runaway 2010 sci-fi smash, Inception.
Until recently, details on the album and its tracks have been as shrouded and sporadic as the marketing for the accompanying film. Yet with only 10 more days remaining until Batman meets his match in Bane, Nolan and Zimmer have lifted the veil slightly to give us their take on the relationship between scoring a three-quel, and getting it right by throwing caution to the wind.
