How to Use Hashtags on Twitter: A Simple Guide for Marketers

How to Use Hashtags on Twitter: A Simple Guide for Marketers | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it

A simple guide to understanding how to effectively use Twitter hashtags in marketing and how you shouldn't! [note mg]

Every time we host live webinars (and as this long list suggests, that is quite often), quite a few attendees get confused about what to do with the hashtag we provide. What is it? What does it do? How do you create one? Let me explain!

What is a hashtag?

A Twitter hashtag is simply a keyword phrase, spelled out without spaces, with a pound sign (#) in front of it. For example, #inboundchat and #ILoveChocolate are both hashtags.

What does a hashtag do?

A Twitter hashtag ties the conversations of different users into one stream, which you can find by searching the hastag in Twitter Search or by using a third-party monitoring tool such as HootSuite.

Some clever ways to best content creation/curation.

Pinterest built its name on providing a way for users to share images of products that interest them. It capitalizes on this with the product-centric rich pins, which feature information that tells users whether an item is available, how much it costs, and where they can buy it in real-time.

Great advices if you have no clue how to use Pinterest.

How to Setup a Wordpress Blog in 5 Minutes

How to Setup a Wordpress Blog in 5 Minutes | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it

I started my blog using WordPress and I have found it a platform that makes it easy to own and publish your own content online.

It is the foundation to the success of this blog which currently receives over 300,000 hits per month.

If you’re looking for an easy way to create a web presence and start sharing your ideas online, the best way to do this is to create a blog. Millions of users around the world already express themselves and share their thoughts by means of their personal blogs.

The advantage of having your own WordPress blog that is self-hosted is that you own it.

It is good to have a Facebook “page” or a Tumblr blog but they are owned by someone else and you can have a web presence there but under their “Terms and Conditions” It is basically a rental.

The Secret to Getting Highly Targeted Traffic from StumbleUpon

The Secret to Getting Highly Targeted Traffic from StumbleUpon | SocialMedia_me | Scoop.it
