Enterprises’ security requirements are growing more complex with the consumerization of IT trend and employees practicing “bring your own devices (BYOD)” within the workplace.

Current Mobile Device Management (MDM) vendors deliver their functionality by forcing IT organizations to install additional infrastructure, learn new processes, and/or make intrusive changes to their IT environment.

The publication of proof-of-concept exploit code for a recently spotted privilege escalation flaw (CVE-2012-0056 ) in the Linux kernel has left Linux vendors scrambling to push out a patch.

A Web server hosting part of T-Mobile's official website has apparently been compromised by TeaMp0isoN, a hacker collective associated with Anonymous, and some of the information hosted on it was stolen and made public on Pastebin.com on Saturday.

The revealed information consists of names, email addresses, phone numbers and passwords of some 80 employees, including its media relations team, and judging by the date of the document containing the data, the information seems to have been stolen last October.

In creating an algorithm that searches for and implements more secure computer configurations, computer science associate professor Errin Fulp and graduate student Michael Crouse from the Wake Forest University in North Carolina have been inspired by genetics.

"Just as one might try to prevent a home robbery, our goal is to create a 'moving target defense' that detects cyber threats when they first case the house. If we can automatically change the landscape by adding the technological equivalent of security cameras or additional lighting, the resulting uncertainty will lower the risk of attack," he pointed out.
