Fancy being embraced by warm colours? Would you like to wander around in someone’s mind? Then LEA4 is the sim to be! Until the end of February 2017 you will be able to roam in Suzen JueL’s world. Inspired by her music she has designed this world where the environment fits perfectly with the colourful paintings and little characters she has created. The experience was even more enhanced for me when she told me how one of her songs particularly inspired the build and I started listening to it while roaming around. (“Caravan“). Highly recommendable!

"When I put on paper or canvas a thought, a dream or something real, seen with my eyes or perceived by my imagination, my concern is not that the others understand," Grazietta Blauvelt (Grazietta Cazenove) says of her art. "But that [by] looking at those traits and those colours. they are able to get excited…

The Brother's Tale, an exhibition by Silas Merlin at Pica Pica, is open just a few days through the 27th of this month. The original purpose for the exhibit was for Silas to experiment and play around. For best viewing, set Advanced Lighting Model in graphics tab in preferences. I also ticked Atmospheric Shaders in the Lab viewer. With the windlight (Annan Adored’s Dusty) and the terrain textures in pastel medium, the exhibit is quite magical.

Now open is the Blue Orange ArtCorner, a new gallery space for two- and three-dimensional art curated by Ini (In Inaka), with an inaugural group of artists featuring Theda Tammas, Indigoclaire (third image), Miu Miu Miu (image below), Eupalinos Ugajin (lowest image), and Igor Ballyhoo (image above). The gallery is not only a space for the display of art, but also for social conversation, as evidenced by the lovely and well-decorated club environment at the landing point. "Blue Orange is project to pull together open minded, friendly people to share time, music, RL and SL art understanding — (rl=sl=rl basically)." explains Ini.

“The Cruelty of Peace”, an exhibit by Lilia Artis on LEA 6 Opening Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 1 pm SLT About the installation, Lilia says, "War just never seems to end. It turned into a background noise while we are having breakfast or dinner and live our everyday lives. The news shows there seems to be no limit to the cruelty of what human beings do to other human beings, to men, women, children. And then there is the ongoing destruction of our environment. Hearing about ever growing pollution, a question rises in my head: what is the reality of peace? Is it only possible when the human race becomes extinct?"

If you haven’t Heard of Suzen Juel Resistance in second life then you live under a virtual rock. Suzen is a Second Life musician icon she has been rocking the grid since 2004. Listening to her original lyrics you get a sense of some of the wild times she has experienced in her life and our virtual world Second Life. Suzen’s talented guitar style and lyrics are wonderful to hear she slides and rhythmically thumps her accompaniment as she belts out her songs. Suzen also paints in her real life. She spills her talented thoughts and mind twists onto canvas expressing her thoughts artistically. Currently She has received a LEA grant of a sim to build paint express herself on. I first encountered the art of Morlita Quan in June 2016, when I visited her exhibition Organic Geometry (read here). I was at once fascinated and captivated by her work, so it was with delight that I recently had the opportunity to visit her gallery space in-world, Abstract Line Art Gallery, located over the region of Dax. A physical world artist hailing from Spain and working under the name MorlitaM, Morlita’s artistic expression covers 2D and 3D art and music, and all three are very much reflected in her Second Life presence, where she exhibits her 2D work, creates 3D art and also plays music, often at the opening events for other artists and galleries she knows.

Apmelina sometimes felt like she was being watched by aliens here and the work behind her on the above picture is actually called "Visit from Venus" but the notecard she picked up at the gallery was reassuring.
Abstract Line Art Gallery it's a 2D RL Work's compilation BY MORLITA Quan (MorlitaM).
The pictures here exposed are RL works which mix classical painting with a post graphic design work focused on the lights and geometry. Inspired by the nature, tries to show an abstract concept about the beautiful nature's shapes with a strong touch of the geometry , always guided by the feelings and the abstract touch.

Blue Orange, is a new music and arts venue in Second Life, brought together by Ini (in Inaka), which opened its doors on Saturday, December 17th, 2016. “[It] is project to pull together open-minded, friendly people to share time, music, RL and SL art understanding. (rl=sl=rl basically),” Ini says of the concept. “At first it was an idea to mix urban style with something classy and create bohemian underground music club where people could hear a lot of different music styles, starting from underground alternative, industrial, grunge, indie, noise, psychedelic, folk punk and ending with jazz, neo-folk, instrumental and classical music … Later came an idea to invite creative people who would be happy to share love for art

Now open at MetaLES, curated by Ux Hax and Romy Nayar, is OpeRaAnxiEty, by JadeYu Fang. Reached via teleport from the landing point, it presents a haunting mix of ideas and images intended to play on our anxieties – albeit at times in the most subtle of ways (make sure you have local sounds enabled when visiting). A misty landscape awaits visitors, across which web-like lines faintly ebb and flow and the air throbs with a steady beat, warping at times into the high-pitched beep of an electrocardiogram. These combine to offer the first play on feelings of discomfort.

I have made three trips to see “Hand” at Immersiva. Bryn Oh puts in delightful details that make me return. Did you find a tube of lipstick with a poem inside? The spotlight effects and dark shadows are good.

Visit Bryn Oh's Hand in Immersiva
The storyline follows a young girl, Flutter. It's a creative and interesting explore and although I didn't get any pics of them the textures on some of the walls along with the use of projectors were truly intriguing. Be sure to tip or purchase some of the items along the way or in the gacha in order for Bryn to continue to host these kinds of sims for us to explore. Enjoy and give yourself plenty of time as there is so much detail to think about and work through along the way.

Both Damian and Mona are prime movers behind the project, and our conversation came about after I dropped into the region to see the art space – which is curated by Monabyte

Opening today, Sunday, December 11, at 1 pm slt, is The Cruelty of Peace, an installation by artist Lilia Artis on LEA6. What at first seems like a charming, snowy landscape, with semi-transparent trees and plants shimmering in celadon and lilac, becomes a horrific scene as we witness what's happened: amid the pastoral setting, houses have been destroyed and burned, and bodies of families lie scattered on the cold ground nearby.

Hand, Bryn Oh’s latest full region installation officially opens in Second Life on Saturday, December 10th at 12:00 noon SLT. It offers visitors an immersive experience which mixes art and storytelling with a touch of mystery and discovery. On arrival, visitors are asked to accept the experience HUD (which will initially be blank) , and which can be minimised by clicking the dancing figure icon.
