Morlita Quan - sound ambience Bryn Oh - Visual installation
Morlita Quan created numerous sound pieces which she then gave to Bryn Oh to interpret. Individual sound segments are placed along a route in the virtual space which the visitor follows. At the end of the route all the pieces are combined to create a sound composition.
Visitors are encouaged to linger at the sound locations to absorb the ambient mood it projects.

Okay, so the horses are awesome. They are roaming around the Sim, and you just have to sit on one to be able to ride it. The animations are cool including walk, trot, gallop, and you can ride single or as a couple. Once we found them, we abandoned walking for good! Rosewood is a beautiful place, pretty wild and full of flowers, and the tumbled-down circus with all the animals wandering free is great. I loved the horses, the birds and animals, the beach, the shooting stars, the natural relaxed atmosphere of the place, with lots of points of interest and nice areas to hang out and chill.
At Rati Alliez in Second Life is 'WizardHat Studios'. As you can see, it is a very beautiful place to explore... There are a couple of castles and one is a gallery. When I was looking around I saw a deer and I noticed it was actually an avatar, I was going to IM…
Flux Sur Mer is a sim that I've heard mentioned many times, but I had never managed to make it there for a visit (probably because I was spelling the name incorrectly!). The sim is absolutely gorgeous, and I’m so mad at myself for not visiting before now. I was snapping pictures like mad. I took so many that it was hard to narrow down the ones to put in the blog post.
Cosima is a nice, minimalist sim with wonderful rain and lightning... I love a good rain.... The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) twist and turn over the skies at Green Story, a simple island sim that is starkly beautiful. The lights sometimes strike the earth in gorgeous color-- can can be seen in photography below. While this might not be exact to nature it does yield some gorgeous photographic effects, and makes for a fascinating visit. There is a very romantic cuddle bed in one of the outlying islands inside a tent that you can take your romantic interest too. Several boats surround the island for more romantic and photographic opportunities.
Periodically I take a look through the Destination Guide to see if there are any new places that I want to visit. This time, I discovered Devils Point.
There’s a lovely train station, complete with this angry looking owl. (I stayed out of his way and quickly made my way into the town proper.)
Devil’s Point is one destination I’ve returned to repeatedly during the last month or so when I’ve wanted inspiration, a sense of place and ambiance created by someone else and also simple respite. Devil’s Point has finally made the Destination Guide and there are familiar views showing up in more photos, in a good way. “Feel free to rez poses & props for your photographs. Autoreturn occurs each 30 minutes.”
In 2007, Jo Yardely visited Second Life (2003) for the first time. She looked around, took in the view, and left immediately. “[Second Life] was a place where weird people spent all their time chatting about uninteresting things,” she said on her blog, “pretending they were having virtual hanky panky or spending real money on virtual rubbish.” You risked being griefed. Most of the simulations looked “horrendous.” Everyone’s fashion sense was terrible. Nine years later, Yardley runs one of the most successful historical simulations in Second Life. Her version of 1920s Berlin has over 100 tenants and regularly hosts events that would have taken place in the real Berlin during the time period, such as cabaret shows at the Eldorado Cabaret or dinner at the Hotel Adlon. She’s meticulously recreated the Zum Nußbaum restaurant, simulated complicated legal changes to German drug laws, and even collected enough money to sponsor a Stolperstein (stepping stone) that is a real-life memorial to Nazi victims. At the beginning of May, she’ll lead a reenactment of the 1929 May Day riots; sort of like Civil War reenactments, but you’re not required to be outside.
Peace of Mind is a Mainland parcel a little over a quarter region in size, held and landscaped by Talacious (Talacious Tigerpaw). It’s a quirky design that offers as much vertically as it does horizontally for the willing explorer, so a stout pair of walking boots might be recommended!
The About Land description offers a warm invitation to arrival to explore, relax and have a little fun, with Talacious noting she has a passion for landscaping, design and art, and hopes that people find a little peace and tranquillity when visiting.

There are some elements in Cica’s art installations that are unique and you recognize her objects and creations immediately. There are these fantastic, mostly oversized, animals with a human expressions in their faces, often looking content and happy or expressing strong feelings. And there are her two-dimensional stick figures, which are often animated. In Cica’s latest installations she offered little cars to drive around which were adapted to the theme. At Paris METRO Art Gallery these cars are exhibited and I called them “Cicamobiles”.

Visitors to The Outer Garden, a delightful "white fantasy world" created by bisou Dexler, will discover not one but three major areas to explore, each situated at a different altitude. One arrives at The White Garden, an ethereal, dreamy forest bathed in gentle light (first two images). Here, peering through the trunks of the trees and under the canopy of leaves, one can find many little scenes that include spots for couples or solitary meditation.

Wander sandy beaches and golden meadows taking in the pastoral beauty, and experience the peaceful nature of Rosemoor. A gently rolling landscape where horses wander and the sounds of nature fill the senses, this new creation from Arol Lightfoot and Krys Vita is must see and a wonderful place to while away an SL afternoon.
Sohooodele.
Playa Flamingo is a beautifully landscaped Homestead region designed by Marcus (Marcus68), which Caitlyn and I have dropped into a couple of times and been fascinated by its mix of picturesque landscaping and touches of whimsy. Those familiar with the term “playa” might be expecting a desert-like environment, perhaps with a little water covering it; or maybe a beach-type location in keeping with the region’s physical world namesake in Costa Rica. Instead, what visitors find is a perfect island environment which packs an incredible about into it without ever once feeling crowded or overdone.
The region is provided by Coqueta Veeper (Coqueta Georgia) and vlady Veeper as a resource for photographers, and it's possible to rez extensively here for shoots, with more than 1,000 prims available and no auto-return. Even then, photographers might prefer to work with the picturesque scenery and decor already available. The region is also worth a visit for the casual traveler, providing both panoramic views and spots to relax. It's also, as seen in these images, a place in which one can successfully experiment with a wide variety of environmental setting
