Echt Virtuell: Simtipp: Nusquam - Second life

Echt Virtuell: Simtipp: Nusquam - Second life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

 Nusquam - Second life

Nusquam - Second life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it
Nusquam, a sim designed by Randi Lenroy (with a few contributions from her partner Krius Misfit and friend Clementine Ishtari), has rapidly become one of Second Life's most photographed destinations, and this spectacular sim is sure to please not only photographers but also explorers, couples, and those who seek a little solitude. "Welcome to nowhere," says the sim's simple yet fitting description ("nusquam," as blogger Eddi Haskell pointed out, being Latin for "nowhere").

Nusquam ~ I Know This Place - Second life

Nusquam ~ I Know This Place - Second life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

Nusquam has a nostalgic feel for me. The reality is that I fled these sort of places, the humidity, snakes, plant pollens, extreme weather conditions, and plethora of insects to be closer to book stores, museums and galleries, ethnic food and theaters.

There was a time when things were cluttered in a more organic way; if something was moved, someone would notice. Objects were made use of, there was less mindless hoarding, fewer plastic disposable items.

Visiting Nowhere in Second Life

Visiting Nowhere in Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

Nusquam (latin: “nowhere”) is an atmospheric homestead region designed by Randi Lenroy, and which is currently featured in the Destination Guide Highlights for the week ending March 18th, 2016. The name for the region becomes evident on arrival: the setting echoes the looks and feel of so many remote coastal regions to be found around the world – Canada, America, Europe, Australia, South America, New Zealand, it could well be anywhere. And so, because of all these echoes, it is in fact, nowhere other than where our imaginations decide to set it as we wander its rugged and open spaces.
