Butterfly Beach, Free Love - Second life

Butterfly Beach, Free Love - Second life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

Miro Collas dropped me a tweet suggesting Caitlyn and I take a look at Butterfly Beach,  a Homestead region that recently opened to the public. The region has been designed by (the always delightfully named) Funky Banana (FunkyBananas) working with Lien Lowe. Funky was also responsible for Banana Bay, which we enjoyed visiting in the summer of 2017.

Butterfly Beach shares something of a common heritage with Banana Bay: both offer sunny, sandy beaches, a feeling of getting away from it all and an opportunity to relax and simply spend time in thought or with someone. From the air (or the Map) it’s clear how the island came by its name, and a visit starts on what might be considered the butterfly’s upper right wing (actually down towards the south-east corner of the region in terms of Map orientation).

Netherwood -Capturing the Lake District in Second Life

Netherwood -Capturing the Lake District in Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it
“Netherwood while a fictional name, is inspired by the picturesque English Lake District where I have lived all of my life,” Lauren Bentham says of her latest creation in Second Life. “I decided it was time for me to do a build based on my local surroundings which I have enjoyed on a daily basis for many years & share with others the experience and views I see every day, which I feel very grateful to have:) .” The result is a beautifully landscaped Homestead region which, for those who have visited the Lake District, England’s largest national park, is instantly reminiscent of the rugged beauty to be found there. But there is also something more here as well; the tall, snow-capped peaks which rise steep around the region, their lower slopes clad in fir trees, carry a suggestion that Netherwood could easily be located in other parts of the world as well.

Vuja De at Devil’s Point - Second Life

Vuja De at Devil’s Point - Second Life | Second Life Destinations | Scoop.it

Devil’s Point is one destination I’ve returned to repeatedly during the last month or so when I’ve wanted inspiration, a sense of place and ambiance created by someone else and also simple respite. Devil’s Point has finally made the Destination Guide and there are familiar views showing up in more photos, in a good way. “Feel free to rez poses & props for your photographs. Autoreturn occurs each 30 minutes.”
