Second Life Destinations

Mit Rosemoor habe ich mir heute eine Region herausgesucht, die ich bereits im Sommer dieses Jahres hier vorgestellt hatte. Damals war die Region eine der meist fotografierten in SL. Das ist bei der aktuelle Winterlandschaft nicht der Fall, wobei das nicht daran liegt, dass die Region keine Ausstrahlung hat. Aber bei den vielen gute Wintersims, ragt sie eben von der Gestaltung auch nicht besonders heraus.

Wander sandy beaches and golden meadows taking in the pastoral beauty, and experience the peaceful nature of Rosemoor. A gently rolling landscape where horses wander and the sounds of nature fill the senses, this new creation from Arol Lightfoot and Krys Vita is must see and a wonderful place to while away an SL afternoon.

Yesterday, Krys Vita, the designer and owner of the lovely and seasonal Kaleidoscope, announced that the sim will be closing its doors this weekend, mostly likely on Sunday afternoon. "I want to thank all of you for all of the support, love, laughs and pics you've given me — but, like all good things, it's time to close the doors to Kaleidoscope and find new exciting adventures," she posted in her notice on Flickr.
he sim was last featured in this blog when it was winter (read here), but now summer has arrived, and the sandy island is home to shady trees, cozy dwellings, quiet beaches and sea birds that drift overhead. It's a beautiful place to wander, feel the breeze, and to take in the panoramic views.

Krys Vita's Kaleidoscope changes with the seasons -- sometimes, several times and not in exact order. Her current version for Summer 2016 may, in fact, change again before the advent of the season in the Northern Hemisphere on June 20. Make sure to head over now to see one of the most gorgeous custom Windlight Sky Settings ever -- a deep clear blue over a shimmering sea right when the Sun touches the far horizon. Playa Flamingo is a knockout destination. This island sim has much going on, and is perfectly coordinated and decorated. Every turn yields surprises. I particularly liked the realistic store interiors in the central town area, and the moving buoys in the central cove. The attention to detail is outstanding.
Krys Vita, who recently closed Kaleidoscope, and Arol Lightfoot, who recently closed Just another Tequila Sunrise, have produced Rosemoor. Rosemoor is a charming island with fun touches including wild horses which you can ride and an amusement park with working attractions. There are nice vistas for photographers, and animated romantic furniture- most of all, this is just a very pretty place to roam and wander.

Rosemoor is the name of a collaborative region design by Krys Vita (who designed the popular Kaleidoscope, which I wrote about here). “This one was meant to be fun!” Krys told me as Caitlyn and I paid a visit a few hours after the region had opened its doors slightly ahead of schedule, “welcome to our zoo�� .” Rosemoor presents visitors with a low-lying island of grass and sands, just a couple of craggy plateaus offering genuine elevation in the south-west corner. The “zoo” Krys mentioned as we chatted, sits to the north-west, close to the landing point. It takes the form of Everlag Park – a place which has clearly seen better days at some point. Now the paint is fading, dirty and chipped on the entrance, the sign having partially fallen from its place above the archway, while the buildings either side showing similar distress.
